check out my first grow. more photos soon! twice the size now. Since this photo I have transplanted into a bigger medium and they have started vegetation growth this week. One 23W compact flouro with aluminum reflector socket, set me back a whole 20 dollars total so far but I do have growth.

hi there and welcome, thats a good start to your growing, you need to get that light about 1" away from that plant, and it will grow a lot stronger if you have a fan blowing over it and help to keep it cool, is that moor than one plant in that pot? as if it is you need to get them into there own pots strate away, as the root will bind, and very soon you will need a lot moor lights, good luck on your grow,,:peace:

Get each of those four plants into its own pot quickly. It would be a shame to waste them they have such nice early growth. Dog is telling you straight. VV

Here are some updates: I keep the light about an 1nch from the growing tips. i moved the light for the photos. 22 days old in photos. more photos in my gallery. i moved the plants from a coffee can to an ice cream bucket. light bulb and socket maybe set me back only 20 dollars at most. the socket came with the reflector and plug as one lowes. good deal and it seems to be working. trying to stay cheap as possible and hidden in the corner, possibly want to throw in attic but will have to run electricity from the upstairs closet lamp socket. the wire is accessible in the attic and there is grow space available, i just need to run wiring for electricity. A little nervous on what to do off the closet socket from the top.. anybody good at wiring? tips?

Hey, looking nice. Although I am new to the forums and growing as a whole I think you need to seperate those plants as quick as possible. You don't want their roots inter-twining! Best of luck and keep the site posted!!!

Just read the other posts, wish I did that before so I don't sound like an idiot saying what 2 people have already said before me.

ok so I just transplanted into 4 seperate small pots. like coffee cup, pickle jar sized pots. should I leave the light on or allow it to heal in the night? I have been leaving it on 24. any suggestions? should I water and leave light on or just leave the soil how it is and turn the light off?

weed does like its root being to close together it likes lots of room it you dont re pot to a deaper pot about 6inch each then the plants will just end up dieing!

turning your lights off with no intention of flowering canb herm the plants.plants need a stable never changing light pattern like what they get outside.turnin your light off is a bad idea!they heal better with photosynthesis.

you need more than just two lights even if you want them to be tiny thats why they are so damn tall. instead of bushy!

got some new photos for you guys to look at. 25 days old in photo. now running both my bulbs together from a outlet splitter. I was running the daylight bulb in the day and the warm bulb during night.

The two plants near the bottom are eliminated later. (The green pot and glass pot._

(Both plants below are eliminated later due to being weaker growing)

I am left with these two stronger growing plants to further veg.

I have started with 4 in one pot, moved to individual pots. Then eliminated the weakest two, and I am left with my two tallest plants, growing under 2 Compact Flouros shown in pictures above. Both are on at the same time under the reflector shown in photos, for a photoperiod of 24hrs. Two days a week I run the photoperiod 18 hrs. I plan on moving in attic in a grow box after I run some wiring in the attic.

I know it sounds weird and irregular. it's just what I think the plants are trying to tell me, that they want about 2 days sleep a week like I get. thats just what i feel they need. i know it's not recommended like that.
