First grow - When to start training?

Hey guys, this is my first grow, I’m week 3 into it, iv got African X fast fem, which are growing really well, just a couple of yellow spots on some leaves & tips, I have started canna grow nutes very cautiously they are quite sensitive to too much water, they are in Grow organic soil, temp between 25-31’, humidity 40-50%, with good air movement in the tent. Iv other strains all growing at different rates. I’m just wondering when I would start training the Africans? I can see under the fan leaves a lot of nodes with offshoots do I wait until they are a little bigger? Iv read about topping but think it’s a little early for that. Also today I can smell them even with carbon filter/fan. Any advice would be great.

At that point, you can start l.s.t. by gently spreading apart the plant to expose lower nodes and encourage lateral branching if that's your desire.

I think its definitely time to top that sucker if you are looking for more colas. Read on growweedeasy.com about topping, lst, manifold/mainlining techniques.

I usually top after 3-4 sets of true leaves. That's in the 2-3 week range. Start LST in the 4-5 week range.
