First Grow Topped Vs. Non Topped/DWC - Lucas Formula

So I just became a medical patient and now I am growing . I unintentionally made a pretty interesting experiment lol. Here's whats ive got goin...

DWC in 5 gallon buckets - becoming undercurrent system in about 2 days.
I have gotten all of my clones from the same person and they were cut and put in starters on the same day 4/22. The only difference is the 2 non topped plants were kept in soil for 2 weeks longer than the 2 non topped plants. Other than that they have been treated exactly the same to this day.
The strains are Cinex (Cinderella 99 x OG Kush) and the infamous Jack Herer.
1 of each strain have been topped and the other were not topped.
The 2 of each strain that were topped were first topped at about 5 weeks from the day they were cut, 1 week after being transplanted into DWC.
The 2 non topped plants were transplanted into DWC 3 weeks ago.
After each plants was transplanted I waited one week and then removed all the larger fan leaves that were effected from stress and turned slightly yellow.
Running one 600w metal halide in air cooled C.A.P. XXXtreme reflector.
Temps and pretty much all conditions are in check. water temps, nutrient levels, ph, humidity etc..
Lucas Formula which was started at a low stranght and is slowly being risen each week.
Here are the results...

So far. Should be a fun watching what these do.

My only question is DWC really this big of a difference vs. soil? I have heard DWC has a crazy good growth speed but these are bushed which tells me that they are much bigger from topping. What do you guys think? And I'd like to keep doing this experiment but I feel like it would be crazy not to top them, and they need to all be the same size because im adding a ScrOG in 2 days.

Your doing a lot a once man. But hey not knocking you. If you can do it by all means do it. However I wouldn't top juss to finish what u started and answer your own question. Plants look good btw. Looking forward to c the end results

Thanks guys and yeah it's a lot but I don't have too much height about 5 feet and can only grow about 3 and a half feet tall, that's the reason for the scrog. I just got the undercurrent running and that was the best thing I have done so far. So much easier checking one bucket instead of trying to pull plants out and checking ph and nutes

Lol, with only a 5ft hight I hope you have them at 12/12! I made the mistake of waiting too long, and now they are HUGE! That Jack will pop on ya quick with a topping then a good prun job. BAM!

Iron Hide: to answer your last question, yes, there is that big of a difference between dirt and hydro. It's mostly because with hydro you have to know what you're doing and be on your 'A game' all the time. Dirt is a lot more forgiving but a tad slower. I took some hydro classes and one of the instructors warned us that, "Your last day off was the one you had before you started your hydro grow." Everything in hydro is faster and more intense because by the time you see the symptoms of a problem it has already happened and now you're playing catch up to reverse it. That's mostly why I went back to dirt. If you're going to grow with hydro you have to be committed.

You might also want to investigate 'fiming' the topical buds on your plants. If you do it right you get two buds for one and instead of having a sea of green you can have a sea of colas. I hope that helps. HSA
