First Grow Super lemon haze/crystal paradise/cole train PICTURES!@!

Living in the great state of Hawaii I decided to take advantage of the opportunites we have here being a medical mj state as well as damn near perfect weather I think.
I took a plant propagation class last semester and learned a ton of info and wanted to put it to use. This will be my first grow ever, got my blue card a couple weeks ago and didnt waste anytime getting started. Placed an order with attitude seed bank and received the seeds a mere 7 days later. I ordered a 5 pack of some fem super lemon haze, 10 pack of kc brains crystal paradise (will probaly be the last I get of the kc brains stuff), a couple random seeds and some freebies.

Threw seeds into some rockwool on the night of the 21st, they had all popped within 24hrs and left them in my grow dome for 2 days at which point I placed the rockwool cubes into some 6in pots and put them under some cfl's. Each pot has an 18w 6500k cfl hovering about an inch above the seedling. I have them on a 18/6 sched. I would leave them on a 24/0 except im having some issues with heat. Ambient temps are easily 85 deg+ so I have the lights on till about 4pm then back on at 10pm.

Some random info:
Im using tap water atm with no nutes or anything. Tap water is at ~7ph (im using litmus paper so im not bothering with adjusting it)
Temps in the cabinet usually go from around 80-85 with the temp climbing to about 88-90 in the last couple of hours the lights are on. I think i may try to mess with the light schedule and turn them off a few hours earlier and back on earlier in the evening to avoid having them on during the hottest time of the day.

Observations:
Both the super lemon haze and the freebie cole train all have very similar growth rates seedlings are all very close in size with the cole train stretching out a little more than the slh. These 4 seedlings dont seem to mind the higher temps one bit, at least that I can tell, although I have no previous grow experience so I dont know where they should be growth wise atm.

The KC Brains Crystal paradise on the other hand is not doing nearly as well as the others. Growth rates for all 6 seedlings are different. One seed popped and the radical had emerged but it has since seemed to have gone to sleep. Two others are lagging behind by a few days of growth and the best three are at least half the height of the SLH and Cole Train but the first set of true leaves seem to be growing in nicely. Im not sure if this particular strain doesnt handle the heat as well but from what they advertised this particular strain is supposed to adapt well to its conditions provided its not COLD.

now for some pictures, who doesnt like pictures! These things are damn near worthless without pics =)

the last cp isnt worth taking a pic of, the seed is still just below the surface.

Please feel free to comment and let me know what you think. This is my first grow so I have no experience to fall back on and am counting on the seasoned growers out there to help me through my first grow. Much appreciated and much Mahalo's to everybody.

thanks for the compliment, ive got some fox farm big bloom that I was planning on using, just not too sure when to apply it. I figured by the next time they need watering I would start dosing the plants using 1 tbsp per gallon of water as per the directions on the bottle for seedlings and transplants. And yes, im just getting them big enough to where they can survive outside without too much trouble. I was thinking when the plant has about 3 or 4 nodes I would stick them out in the yard or possibly on the roof while they're still small enough.

big bloom? whats the n-p-k on that? the three numbers on the bottle...and its better to haven them tough it out young and grow to be tough instead of going out as a big pussy that cant handle him self....haha well its up to you thats just my opinion...

So I placed three of my Crystal Paradise seedlings outside and also fed them with my Fox Farm Big Bloom at a 1tbsp/gal ratio. The rest of the seedlings will get fed at the next watering.

I think I need a new thermostat. Today it was showing the cabinet got up to 92 but none of the seedlings showed signs of heat stress and it just plain didnt feel that hot inside the box. It didnt really feel any hotter than ambient.

lol why the hell are you giving them a tablespoon of nutrients, your gonna kill them dude they don't need any nutrients for at least a week or 2, unless its something organic or meant for seedlings. And btw you already show signs of heat stress at least for that one plant, you can see the burn on it haha. I am also growing some super lemon haze about the same size as yours, and i feel you on the KC brains. I ordered a 10 pack of KC brains mango and every single one died, except for one. I think i might have over watered them, not sure but i couldn't believe that shit

i guess you guys arent too familiar with the fox farms stuff. I thought it was pretty widely used. Here's what im going off of as far as my nute schedule http://foxfarmfertilizer.com/soilfeed.pdf

two posts above that I stated it was an organic tea, then another two posts above that I said that I was going to follow the directions on the bottle for "seedlings and transplants" I had answered your question before you even asked it. also fyi because it doesnt seem you read the other posts too well, it was a tbsp of the tea per 1 gallon of water. not a tbsp per plant. If I were to post in some ones grow journal laughing at them I would make sure I knew exactly what it was I was talking about.

If you are referring to the one pic with the brown stuff on the cotyledeon then no the plant isnt burned, its just crap stuck on the coty from inside the seed shell, take another look.

808toker... you first told me that I should go and get some nutes so they grow big and healthy, now you tell me not to be using nutes for a couple weeks. Well which is it?

Thanks for your input, I think ill follow the fox farms recomended feeding schedule this first grow and adjust as needed on the fly. Ill throw up some updated pics tomorrow.

sorry i meant get nutes to make them big and healthy but dont use them the first couple weeks...haha sorry i usally am reaaaally baked on here. for the first couple weeks dont give ANY nutes....then use vegging nutes with a higher n and p in the n-p-k ratio because k is needed in flowering not vegging. the fox farms big bloom is a flowering nute. i know they make organic vegging nutes too. but wait couple weeks at least then start giving them nutes. if you give them nutes too early they will turn yellow and not do to well

hey narb, props on give in it a go! when their young like that i like to start off with a quality organic soil like RootsOrganic or FoxFarmOceanForest cut with LightWarrior bout 50/50 and other than a as pure of water as pos with low ppm. RO water if at all pos with a little root additive I like Rhizotonic from canna but their are plenty out their just try to stick with quality. FoxFarm nutes are fine as a starter line till u get comfortable with using nutes but remember with a quality organic soil u don't need any nutes until their flowering. in the first and second month the idea is to train your roots to grow. Deep is good but wide is better for a large canopy and once you got a healthy root system then u can worry bout the leaves and stems thats were i like to start tying them to run parallel with the ground (pot bondage now for bud porn latter) hehe... Ain't seen anything in over a month hope all is well. If you are running in to problems just drop me a line with RIU IM system and I'll do all I can to help keep you on track if u find yourself with problems...
Much love and keep it green -dieseldrew
