I'm building a custom box and plan on using CFLs. I'm trying to figure out how to wire up fixtures for best results without a lot of carpentry or electrician work. I had a broken table lamp I extracted the electrical bits out of, so I have one socket...and I'll be putting at least one "Y" splitter in it, likely two, but I'm concerned about fire hazzards from too many plugs in one outlet.
Anyone have any suggestions for parts I could buy? Some easy wiring? The lamp socket I have has a nice long cord on it, and I'll be using that to raise and lower the light as needed, so whatever else I do, I think I'd like to have a similar fixture with a cord that I can mount in a similar way. Basically I'll be cutting two holes in the top of my box and feeding the cords through so they dangle inside.
