First grow question

I germinated my seeds in a paper towel and planted in soil in plastic cups yesterday when the roots were less than an inch long. I put a light on them to keep them warm cuz it's kinda cold in ohio. Today i put surran wrap on them, like a humidity dome. Should i take the light off of them i read that light can stunt their growth. they do not have leaves yet and their little seed hats are still on them. what can i do to increase their chances. the light i am using i found at home depot it's a grow light sylvaina i think 120watt...is their something cheap that i can buy that would be better??? Thanks in advance for any help and advice you might have!

When my seeds are germinated, I plant them and put them directly under my 400w HPS which hangs about 3 ft above. With your light, you should be safe putting it around 10" away, maybe even less.

Depending on how much money you have to spend, you can get a 150w HPS for around $70-80 from HTG supply, but I don't know what your grow goals are.

i'll tell you if you got the spot grow light (120w looks blue) they work pretty good for veg. i had 4 of them in the large round reflector, on 6 plants until they were about 2 ft tall then i bought a 400w mh set up that is a hps too and it came with both bulbs for under $300,if you plan on having more then 10 plants get a 600w light that does mh and hps.it will pay for its self with one good plant

I do have the 120 but i think its to hot and it'as about a foot away... i moved it up a little and it seems better maybe i'm being impatient i just wanna see some little green leafs.. i also have a 75watt of the same kind of bulb. So far i just want to see if i can grow them to maturity and if it goes well then i'm gonna do it again with some better seeds. The ones i have i just collect from bags.. if it works out weill whats a good seed to try??

A 150w HPS Can produce decent results... I would keep that 120w about A foot or 2 From the seedling for a week or so....

Patience is a virtue remember you don't grow your plants they grow themselves you just sit back and enjoy the 3 month wait lol
