First Grow... Need Opinions

Hello all, this is my first post to this forum, although I have been a lurker for probably nearly a decade, I do apologize. I was born in raised in Seattle, but have lived in Oklahoma for almost 15 years now, As of last year, I am a licensed medical patient in the state of OK and can legally have up to 6 mature plants and 6 seedlings. I consider myself somewhat of an expert when it comes to cannabis, on just about anything except for growing it. I’ve always wanted to grow, but as the state of OK used to send people to prison for 15 years for growing weed, I was never able to get into it. Finally, after almost a year of research, I’m pulling the trigger and doing it.

I’ve got a 4x4 Gorilla Grow, I ordered a 480w HLG-550 w/LM301H & CREE 660nm diodes from Kingbrite. I will be growing four plants in this tent, in 3 gal smart pots, growing in a 70 coco/30 perlite mixture, using the drain-to-waste method to feed. Now I decided early on that I was going to keep it simple with the nutes while I master the other more important aspects of a grow, and eventually switching to all organic, making my own compost teas. I had planned on running DynaGro’s Pro-Foliage, Bloom, Pro-Tent and MagPro and following Dynagro’s schedule to the T. Now that its actually time to buy my nutes, I’m having second thoughts. I came across BioBizz, and it only seems to be a hair more complicated than following Dynagro’s feeding schedule. Has anyone had experience with BioBizz? I know that I will have to balance the PH as I am running RO water, but I seen they make BIO PH up and down, so it seems like that is really the extent of the extra difficulty. If it is considerably more complex to institute a feeding regiment with BioBizz I will stick with DG, but I do know that I tend to taste terpenes more when I buy flower that was grown organically I taste the terpenes more than I do with most salt-Nute grown flower.

Another question I have, Is If I do stick with DG, I have read a lot of places that if you feed at the doses they recommend, you will burn your flower in bloom, how much lower of a dosage should I run to avoid having to worry about burn? love hearing from people that have personal experience using products, I actually found this forum looking for a comparison that Homebrewer had made, and have also been in contact with him regarding his recommendations. I thank you all for your help and I look forward to actually participating in the forum now and not just lurking!

My opinion is you should go with the DG. I've never tried BB but I do know DG kicks ass in coco. Unlike a lot of people I am all for minerial(salt) based nutes. So much cleaner and easier for me to dial in,.
Good luck

That’s what has me hesitant to go to organic while I’m running coco, I know that organic nutrients take longer to break down, and feeding drain-to-waste in coco, I would think a faster uptake would definitely be an advantage of DG. Do you run DG at full strength?

I haven't ran it in a few years. But I do believe I ran it based on a user, heres, suggestions. Someone has a link in their sig for DG vs AN. That's what I followed.
Could be who you mentioned.

One thing about DG that I've ran into that I haven't seen with other lines is it hardens in the bottle. The salts seem tyo bond together and create a solid. And again, I have seen talk of it on here. Having to heat the nutes up to get them back to liquid. Maybe someone else with more info could chime in.

Currently I use; Silica, masterblend, calnit, mag and acids.

Nice! Yeah, The DG vs AN comparison is what brought me here, by Homebrewer. My original plan was to go with Connoisseur Coco by AN, as I knew nothing and I thought it was the best. It didn’t take much research to find that wasn’t true, and I came across Homebrewer’s comparison lol. When I asked him, He recommended feeding only pro-foliage, and cutting it in half during veg, full strength for flower.

Then that is what I did. I know I followed his suggestions. I only ran it cause a local store was going outta biz and it was all marked down 75%. Its good stuff. For me it comes down to weather or not I wanna buy water with salts, or just salts. I went just salts.

A few months ago I ordered some gallons of DG, but again, there were solids in it so I returned it, and tried something else.

I went back and looked at the comparison, and for the comparison he said he runs both the grow for veg and then both into flower, which is basically what their schedule says to do, it says to carry the pro-foliage 3 weeks into flower and is what I planned. My internal voice of reason is saying stick to the plan and keep it simple, I just really do tend to joy flower from growers that I know feed organic. It isn’t because I necessarily care about using salt nutes or organic, but for whatever reason, esp in strains that are high in Limonene, stuff thats grown organically I can taste the terpenes more. I’ve got a buddy that grows with GH and he does a weekly recharge treatment, I could tell the taste difference when he started introducing the recharge so I may just try that out.

I know for a fact I didn't do that. I ran F-pro in veg and bloom, in bloom.

As far as taste and terps go, IDK. Some people say it doesn't matter and some say they can tell the difference.
