First Grow: Lighting Question

I posted this same thread over in Grow Room Design but noone responded so I figured I would try here. I am pretty new to indoor growing and was wondering if what i had for lighting was enough. Right now I'm using two 54 watt t5 fluorescent bulbs that emit 5000 lumens each. I also have four of the cheap $10 fluorescent grow lights from walmart that emit 1093 lumens each. These are in my attic with 3 plants in a 4X3 Foot area. The plants are seedlings still and seem to be doing fine. Will I be able to use the lighting I have to continue to grow, or do I need more? Any tips is greatly appreciated.

that will be fine until they get a foot or higher then i would pound a bigger lite and some nutes and you will be on your way..the bigger lite will able you to get more size and use it for the rest of veg and budding..

Okay thanks. What do you mean by bigger? As in like Metal Halide or HID or just a bigger fluorescent? I'm kind of on a lower type budget or I would have bought a much better lighting system.

dude, you're okay with the light setup.... when they get 1 ft +, position the cheaper CFL bulbs under the top foliage to give more light to the bottom of the plant. You should be A-OK all the way to the flowering stage !!!! Remember, 3000+ lumens / square foot minimum. You're OK ! Good luck !
