First grow is going great, but do my plants look ready to flip to flower? [Pics attached]

Hey Guys,

When do you think I should flip these bad boys into flower? They first sprouted from the soil 42 days ago and I'm considering start of veg to be with first set of true days so 33 days of veg.

I've been low stress training them so they're still quite low. I'm also thinking about scrogging them. When would you normally start the scrog?

Bonus question: what do you guys do with a heater when your tent fills out, but you don't want to burn the plants?

Strains:
Seedsman Blueberry Fem
Seedsman Jack Herer Fem
Bruce Banger FAST Feminised Seeds

Day 33 of Veg
Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil
5g fabric pots
3x5 tent
Electric Sky 300 v3 (48 inches away at LVL 7)
75-80f
55-60RH%r
Ph going into medium 6.2-6.5
Have not yet started feeding Fox Farm Trio. No signs yet of deficiency.
Feeding 1 Tablespoon of Molasses per gallon every other feeding

When to flip is more or less a personal choice, I reckon. The longer you let them veg, the larger the plants will grow. You'll likely get a larger yield. But if time is an important factor you'll likely get more grams/days when flipping sooner.

I usually let my plants grow a tad bit bigger than yours are, but I see plenty of experienced growers who flip earlier than I do. Again, personal choice. Do you want big plants with highest potential yield or do you prioritize a short grow? That's the question you should consider.

Could place the heater outside your tent near the intake. I have my humidifier set like this.

That is a sweet light but it is suggested to be 12-18inches from the canopy...have you tried moving it closer to see how it effects temp (may not even need an external heater) and your plants?

Check out this out. Dimmer label that came with the light. Since I'm not a professional and am still in veg I've been doing 48 inches at level 7. Could I be utilizing this light better?

Good to know. I did a light defoliation today, so I think I might veg them for a bit longer and let them get higher before I flip. I'd prefer a higher yield. My tent is 7 ft high and I'm LST so I'm not too worried about vertical growth. I'm more concerned about how wide it will get.

Do you thinks a scrog is necessary?

That label is just playing it really safe and holding you back for your own good. Lol they don't want noobs burning their plants and blaming it on their light. You can crank it up as you feel comfortable and keep an eye on your plants for light stress. Doing this may also solve your heater issue.

There's two possible things I see when I look at your pics...That light green starting to come in on your plants...it could be caused by low light levels if your light is too far away. They can lighten in color if the light is too weak, new leaves will be thinner and smaller, and your internode spacing will increase as well. We cannot see that because you are actively LST'ing. But that light green can also be caused by under feeding...that soil you are using is 44 days old now...that stuff is good for 4/5 weeks tops...you do the math. I would start with 1/4 or 1/2 strength nutes.

Dank Bongula. Thank you for the response. This is the type of thoughtful feedback I look for on this forum.

I will start toying around with increasing the light strength, but are you saying by increasing the light strength the inter node length will shorten which will be better for higher yield?

Regarding the feeding, you're right. I think it's about time I begin feeding the plants, but I do have one question.

I've been testing the PPM of the run off and it's currently coming in around 1200. My understanding this is from the organic nutrients in the FFOF soil. From reading I've done I want the target PPM to be 450-700 for Veg Weeks 4+. Should I wait to begin feeding until the run off PPM dips to around 700? Or when my plant only starts to show deficiencies? Or should i just start doing quarter doses now?

If that ppm info is correct, then that certainly changes things...perhaps it is all related to the light. You would only want to change one thing at a time so I would leave the intensity at 7 but bring it to 36in on a day where you can really keep an eye on it lol that's a big fuckin light.

If the internodal distance becomes too long, the whole thing, branches and stems become weaker. You don't want it spindly...you want a fat heffer that can hold her weight
