First grow in 5 years.

Hey everyone, thought I'd share my first grow in 5 years. Havnt grown due to lack of space and landlords and such for quite awhile now. Just bought my own house last year so on December 13 I picked up some clones from a local dispensary. 20181213_183156.jpg

I'll be honest, they didnt look great Haha. But were the best ones that I could choose from.

The strain is Jack Herer x OG Kush.

My grow tent is 2.5'x2.5'x5'
440 cmf 6" extraction fan w/ carbon filter.

I have been using general organics grow box for nutrients, mainly because it was simple and cheap for starting into again.

For veg light I purchased a hlg qb100 4000k from horticulture lighting group. It really seemed to work well for the space I had it in. Great growth rates plants seemed to love it. Ran 18/6 light schedule 20181213_183202.jpg

Plants were in veg for 6 weeks until the 12/12 flip on February 1,2019

For flowering I knew the hlg100 was going to be under powered for the space I had so I decided to build another light just for flowering.
I went with 4 qb132 from horticulture lighting group run off a meanwell hlg-240c-1750a. This will give me roughly 250w in my 5 sq ft tent. I have them dimmed down to 150 currently and increasing the wattage every week until I'm at around 230w unless the plants show signs of too much light.

Very cool grow my friend. I'm going to follow along for the ride.

I was in a similar situation as you where I stopped growing for many years. I got back into it summer 2017 and haven't looked back. The lighting technology and strains definitely evolved during my absence, but it didn't take too long to get reacquainted.

Overall the plants look good. They seem a bit light in color but that could definitely be the color temperature of the lighting in the photos. What medium are you using?

Nice dude. Well those plants have come a long way since you picked up the cuts. Nice job nursing them into some formidable ganja plants.

Are you using any beneficial microbes in your soil at all?

Not that I'm aware of lol.
I did use water from my large freshwater aquarium which I know has beneficial bacteria growing in it. The tank is 250 gallons all organically fed I keep south America cichlids. It is kept in great condition which is why I'm comfortable using the water from it for my grow. However I only use it for vegging. I like to know exactly what's in the water for flowering and the tank water varies depending on when the last water change was.

But do tell me about microbes and such as I just have not come across much about it. Maybe you can point me in a good direction? Thanks.

So I am having some issues, most likely due to ignorance or laziness on my part, and I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction until I can get what's needed.
Day 15 of flower plants look ok..
I noticed a few days ago one of my plants was slightly yellowing. It wasnt terrible so I didnt think much of it.
Due to my work schedule I wasnt able to view them for a few days and my wife was taking care of them.
Today I got home and was able to look befor lights out and the problem looks to be getting worse.
As stated previously I am using general organics per their feeding schedule. I am NOT checking anything after mixing just doing as the chart directs. So I'm assuming at this point that either I'm getting p.h. lockout or some sort of deficiency.
I will be ordering a meter for that as well as a TDS meter in a week or so. I'm hoping someone on here will see this and be able to help until I get those to get a better understanding of what could be wrong.

Nice grow though, i just got my hands on the 4pc 132 kit and im excited to see how i do with it. Im growing in a 2x3. My plant is a clone i took off a seed i grew a few months ago, my old lights were a mars hydro 300 and a few cfls. I cant wait to see how much better these lights are and if they are worth the hype.

Yea I'm excited as well to see how they do final results. But because it's my first grow in a long time I'm still relearning everything I knew Haha. I wont be surprised if it's not a great yeild. However I do think i figured out my problem ill see when lights come on if they are starting to look better.

Its all learning for me as well, this is my third grow indoors i started out with no real money and used cfls n cheap lights till i could afford the quantom bords. I belive im into the 4rth or 5th week of flowering but im not exactly sure i forgot to wright down what day i flipped the lights. I do know people say using led lights that plants need more cal/mag than other lighting. What do you thinks wrong with yours?

I think I wasnt giving them enough water and nutrients. I was only giving about a cup each plant every 12-16 hours and someone told me that I should feed until I get at least a bit of run off so I did that last night and had to put 5 cups in each pot to get any run off. So I'm hoping that they are just needing more. I checked ph with strips and was right around 6.0 - 6.5.

Day 19

I think things are starting to look better. Plants seem to be moving along nicely now that they have enough to eat.
Saw about 3/4" growth on most shoots in last 24 hours. 20190219_071049.jpg 20190219_071247.jpg 20190219_071258.jpg
