I can tell because it is growing in the "Alternating Internode" pattern which tells you that it has been vegging for awhile. When the plant first starts growing, the internodes are across from one another. When the plant reaches sexual maturity, it changes and the internodes are staggered. That doesn't usually start happening until at least 4-6 weeks in veg.
