first grow feedback encouraged

hi guys great website learned a lot and plan to keep reading. just a quick run around my medical grow room that complies with all state and local laws in my area.
input from this great community would be appreciated.



this is the first pic of the room. I am a plumber by trade so water was going to be my medium from day one as i understand it more then dirt.
just 10 5 gallon buckets with some air stones. 1 400w mh light and 4 bulb t5 lights which will be swapped out for 2 k lights when i go to flower.



a/c unit poked thru to the adjacent room keeps the room from 70f without lights on and 80 with lights on.

exhaust fan and filter. filter not hooked up just yet, its just sucking out, figured that the negative pressure would bring in fresh air for now.

roots of the above plant they have a redish looking substance on them, i washed it off and cleaned the bucket out and redid ph and nutes. gonna check back in the next few days and see if it reappears i think it was much from the hydrton but unsure.

weird deal here plant looked dead i freaked out cleaned everything re did water and a few days l8er this baby came shooting up threw the dead deformed stuff. i am just gonna let it go and see what happens

From the looks of your setup you are expecting monstters(mylar all over walls)??? If you are you will be in need of much more light! I wouldnt use any less than a 1000 watts hps for flower for 10 plants. What are you expecting from this grow yield wise? How long are you vegging?

not sure what to expect as its my first real grow.
by real grow i mean i screwed around 15 years ago in my closet at my parents house. it was a mess and never grew. meh 15 years old just wanted weed!

using 2 1k lights at flower as thats what i was given as a house warming present lol.

the mylar on the walls was some stuff i had and watched a video that put it up. thought hell why not lets see what happens.
maybe i should paint the walls floor and ceiling with white paint?
vegging 2 weeks past the last plants gets its 6 node. because at that point i will be using UB's topping technique.

just a quick update on how the girls are doing. sure is hard to take pictures of them with the hps's going. they seem to be stretching out now instead of the squatty bush style they had in veg guessing that's normal.
been trying to keep them as close as possible to the lights even blocking underneath the buckets to get them even with the rest of the plants.
also using some scrap sheets of drywall painted white and positioning them as close as i can to the plants to catch more light.
air conditioner keeps the room at 79 degrees at lights on and 69 with lights off. humidity is hard to keep high with the conditioner going, only get it to 43% rh with it running, and 56 with out it running but heat climbs to 85f with out the air conditioner.
this bucket system seems to be a pin in the ass to deal with, the ph flux is annoying every day i have to add ph down and nutes seem to be getting eaten up alot so thats another thing to add every day.
next grow will be some system with a large ass res to help buffer the ph drop and nute drop. would really like to take a few days off plantsitting and go do something without fear of killing them.
