First Grow Ever (closet grow)

Hey everyone this is my first grow ever Ive been doing a pretty good amount of research and this is what i got so far.
I
have a 400 watt metal halide light that i got from the hydroponics store down the street (plan on switching to hps for flowering). Do yall think this is enough for four plants?

You cant see the fan i used for the exhaust but in the third picture that big cylinder thing hanging is where the fan is. I got the fan from the hydroponics store as well and the guy said it was around 260 cfms. I have the exhaust going out to a hole in the wall on the left side (I wish i had a pic that showed it). As of right now i dont have any kind of intake fan and i was wondering if that was going to be a big issue or if i could get away with it just by opening the door for a while?

I plan on ghetto rigging a carbon filter to my exhaust fan. My plan was to get some kind of mesh (i was thinking about cutting a spatter cover for frying food to size) and just placing it inside the cylinder thing i made and then just pour some activated charcoal on top. I really think this will work and its super simple cause gravity just does everything. Does anyone see any problems with this?

The room isn't 100% completed yet i still need to line the walls with some mylar, but other than that i was wondering if anyone sees any issues in my room?

Thanks everyone

I'm going to be growing white widow using foxfarm soil and I'll basically be following their feeding schedule (http://foxfarmfertilizer.com/soilfeed.pdf) to the T. Since its my first grow i think this will be easiest for me. The only thing I'm doing differently from the schedule is not using the big bloom at all and replacing the beastie bloomz and cha ching with some stuff called moab. Does this sound good?

Hi Zap thanks for stopping by my grow journal!

I have used a 400 watt to veg and bloom with good success in a small space. I did upgrade to 600 watt and of course in turn saw bigger buds. This doesnt mean you have to do this at all, especially since you have that cool tube which allows for close placement of your light.

Intake fans...well I suppose it depends on your situation. The exhaust is obviously pulling new air in, but is it enough? In my case it wasn't because of how hot it was getting, so I ended up putting an intake fan in and it reduced temp by over 5 degrees and brings in constant cooler fresh air..but again this is all based upon everyone's situation. If you do get an intake, I can def say get one at less cfm than your exhaust to keep your negative pressure intact for your future carbon filter.

Good luck mane! bongsmilie
