Just posting to see what all the peeps here on rollitup think. For my flower room I am using 4x23watt 2700k CFLs + 3x14 Watt CFLs + a makeshift heatsink LED from a friend. My baby is in day 10 of flowering, I had her since she was a wee little clone way back in early march.
I also have 2 clones in a separate grow chamber, which houses 4x23 Watt 5000K CFLs, and another makeshift heatsink LED. The bigger clone is 26 days into veg, and the smaller one is 19 days(they were rooted 1 week apart), as for the size difference im not too sure why one clone is so much larger than the other, even if it is just a week older. Anywho, ill post all these pics im talking about and let you guys leave any feedback you can/want to. Thanks for taking a look. Whoops. Forgot to mention , the strain is Violator Kush.

You might want to add a few more lights. I have 12 mixed 23 and 14 watt bulbs I have about close to 250 watts. Cfls don't penetrate as well as h.i.d so yoy need alot of them. Try to get more light in there. You'll be happier with the harvest. There's a few Diys on YouTube to show how to make a cfl hood. Can hold as many lights as you can fit and you can add more on the sides of your box for extra coverage. What are you doing for ventilation and odor control? Here's my two plants. Both auto Mazaar one is 2 weeks and the others roughly 4 days1403292522497.jpg1403292607831.jpg 1403292716611.jpg

looking good. for ventilation I have a fan blowing out of the closet(which is maybe 1/8" open), and a fan inside blowing down on the plants/cooling my LED lights. For odor (it's not implemented yet as there is no odor yet) I have a carbon scrubber made using a centrifugal fan, some carbon filters from a fish store, and other household stuff.Total I have around 160 watts for the one plant, which I thought would be enough. Not too sure what to do if i need many more, im running out of space for more lamps, and my electrical outlets nearby to my grow area are full.

you can buy y splitter fittings for the lamp like this from HH

I changed up my veg room slightly, added 2 23 watt cfls to it and changed 2 lamps for a double bulb fixture. Also go 4 y connectors, 2 for veg 2 for flower. So I have added 2 bulbs to flower, and 2 to Veg for a grand total of:
6x23watt 2700k, 3x14watt 2700k + roughly 18 watts of 2700k LED for flower
6x23 watt 5000k and roughly 18 watts of 5000k LED for veg room.
I will only post an updated pic of the veg box as it is the only one with noticeable change.
The clones look a little droopy and sad right now, I think it's because i had them out of the box for about 1-2 hours while trying to rig this up (it was a nightmare, I had to re wire the socket, there was no contact on the metal the bulbs touch). Let me know what you think, or if I could/should change anything

Added a few soda can reflectors to the cfl's in veg room, waking up this morning to check on them and they seemed much better and seemed to like the extra 2 bulbs added.

This looks proper man , nice going.
thanks man, i appreciate it. Just trying to improve every next generation of clones. I have a white widowxbig bud seed in a peat pot sitting in my humid as fuck garage, should hopefully sprout this week. I may have gotten impatient with it and stuck it in the peat pot too soon (the seed was just cracked and I could see the root inside, but no root shot out by the time I put it in the garage), It's been about 6 days since I dropped the seed in a cup of water, and about 4.5 days since I put it in the peat. Only time will tell.

Just a 1 week update on the original post: Today marks the beginning of week 2 of flower for my baby. She has white hairs and budsites all over, just no smell yet, expecting to need to set up my air scrubber sometime this week. As for my clones: I have decided to LST them, started only recently last night so they don't look the best, but in time they should look real good. Again any comments and suggestions are welcome, and thanks for taking a look.

either im too baked to find the edit button or it doesn't exist. Either way I meant to say that is day 1 of week 3 flowering, not week 2.

Looks like a solid grow. I like all the Do-It-Yourself stuff you got going on. Should be some good quality herb when done :)

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback. and I certainly do hope so, although I wouldn't be sooo disappointed if it wasn't the greatest outcome, as it has been a really nice learning experience, as well as what I would call a hobby at this point.

UPDATE: This is everything in the veg room. Under a total of 12x 23W 6500k bulbs, and 4x 23W 5000k, along with two t5 2 foot tubes. The two bigger ones are my Violator Kush clones, and for the seedlings, the ones in the brown pots are skunk haze, the one in the green pot is white widow x big bud(not sure why the 2nd set of leaves are coming in looking funky). The white widow is 8 days old, the skunks are both 7 days old, the clones are 43 days in veg(big one), and 37 days in veg(smaller one). Feedback and comments are welcome.

UPDATE: Today is the beginning of week 4 flower for my Violator Kush mama. Other than a few nute burns here and there, with some light burn on a few leaves hitting side lights, I think it looks okay. She's starting to smell a little bit, and has bud sites all over. Feedback and comments are welcome, thanks.

I've seen a lot of posts about never using aluminum foil in your grow box. It will actually reduce the reflected light, and instead cause hot spots in your grow space. White is good, reflective mylar is supposed to be better. Search around and see is always good.

Just below is a link to a video I upped on July 7 of my second ever grow, and I'm doing poverty cfl with mg nutes and soil grow. My bigger girls were vegged 3 months (stressed and grew poor for the 1st month), and on the day of filming were 37 days in flower, as are the smaller bag weed sativa's on the right, but they were vegged one month with little light, and obviously flowering with little light also :(

Nice little setup you have there, hope all goes well. And I actually am using mylar, not aluminum for a reflective surface. As for my veg room though, I am in need of some more mylar, which is on my to do list.
