First Grow: DWC Hydroponics

This is my first grow, I have a buddy who grows for profit and does very well with his setup. He always told me not to fuck around and to do things right the first time.

To Start I am using my 6x5ft closet. I added a 600w HPS light and digital ballast, filtered intake on both the room and the light, and exhausted to the attic. I also placed some white bathroom panel on the ground so my carpet doesnt get wet.

Here are my first clones, 8 Grand Daddy Purples in rockwool and placed in coco fiber.

Here they are about a week later. I believe I over nuted them/over watered them, and had too low humidity. I eventually kill 3 of these plants.

I originally tried coco because my buddy who grows uses it exclusivly. He says hydroponics is shit and that everyone is switching to dirt and coco. I had a very hard time knowing when to water my coco plants. they turned very yellow so I switched to DWC in an experiment to find out if it would help my situation. It worked out great eventually...
In this pic you see both DWC tanks, one has 4 Grand Daddy Purples, the other has dispensary clones of Hogsbreath, Headband, and Blue Dream, along with 1 Grand Daddy Purple. I also have one in coco as a comparison.

As you can see in this next photo the plants look very sick. I had almost given up hope of growing because I thought I was doing everything right. As it turns out, the humidity was much too low. Veg Plants like a humidity of around 60%, I only had it at 20%

Here they are 2 days after I started spraying them and increasing the humidity. Before spraying, the leaves were twisting, the stems were purple. They are starting the recovery process.

Here they are about 3-4 days after the last photo. The stems are again turning green, I trimmed off all the yellowing/dead leaves that wernt recovering.

here they are about 3 days after the last pic. They are really busting out!
