Decided I wanted to try my first CFL micro grow after moving in with my girlfriend and am more then excited. Would like to one day smoke only my own, save some cash and know exactly where it came from, me :D.
I apologize if this thread is in the wrong location, this is my first thread and first time posting ever. Have searched through RIU for quite some time now and have always found good responses, well mannered people and information I never knew about. Can't wait to be a solid part of the RIU community.

Strain: Northern lights Feminized (ordered from Nirvana, should be here in 2 weeks or less)

Box dimensions: Old dresser roughly 3' x 2' x 1' (Height x width x depth)

Ventilation: Two 4" x 4" computer fans capable of moving 44 CFM each.

Odor: Carbon filter mounted to the outtake fan located high by the lights to help remove hot air.

Reflective material: Emergency blanket from Canadian tire

Lights: Veg = Three 42W 6500k / One 42w 2700k
Flowering = Three 42w 2700k / One 42w 6500k and small 23w 2700k to fill shadows.

Soil: Miracle grow organic potting mix in the brown bag (0.10-0.05-0.05)
Miracle grow perlite (0.04-0.01-0.06)

This is the part I am having trouble with, I do not have any small nurseries near me or big garden centers where I was able to easily find fox farms etc which I know is much better. I have the normal local shops such as Wal-mart, Home depot, Target, Lowe's, Canadian tire and with the knowledge I have this seemed like the best choice...opinions/ better options would be awesome.

Nutrients: I have no idea, I know to not start feeding until after 2-3+ weeks and at quarter/half strength because of the soil i'm using but then what?

Tools: To my knowledge I have all the necessary tools. (Ph control kit, sharp sterile scissors, humidity/temp gauge, pots, timer, extra fan)

Updates:
I can't wait to get this project started and I apologize for no pictures, the box is currently at my parents otherwise there would be.
Once I get started and I see some sprouting i'll upload pictures every 1/2 weeks.

:leaf:Thank you so much for the read and any input you provide, happy toking everyone.:leaf:
May I make a suggestion for next grow? Try their AK-48 for a one hit wonder! If you want something tasty, try Bubblelicious or Raspberry Cough!

don't you see the problem ? 3 bulbs to veg and only 1 to flower , you need twice the light to flower then to veg, that's what makes the buds bigger, if the room is small pack all the lights in there as possible cant over do it. just get a big fan suck all the heat out

Thanks bro, those are some awesome suggestions and i'll defiantly look into them. Nothing like having the option of a one hit wonder or tasty puff.

I think you misread my post :).

I plan on having 4 lights during veg 3 42w 6500k bulbs and 1 42w 2700k bulb.
During flowering I plan on having at LEAST 3 42w 2700k and 1 42w 6500k with a BUNCH of small 13/23w 2700k to fill shadows.

Thanks for the input, I appreciate the time.

Yeah, been roughly 7 days so they should be here ANY day now. What did you order and was it from Nirvana as well? Maybe we'll reach harvest around the same time, that'd be cool haha.

Yeah fingers crossed, that's all you can do really XD.

Some of those sound pretty tasty, and the free seeds are always a bonus. It'll be sweet if I get any.

How many plant are you planning on having? your current amount of lights would only support 1 plant. you cant get foxfarm soil in Canada as far as I know. I recommend SeaSoil if you can find it though it is very strong so avoid starting seeds in it. the important thing when choosing a good store bought soil is to avoid time release nutes as u have no control over them and that will cause problems. Myself I just picked up a ton of premier organic potting soil from Canadian tire, it has very little nutritional value so I feel ok putting my seedlings in it without them getting burned plus it was cheap as dirt (lol) and has good texture and drainage. for nutes ill be using Sensi grow and bloom 2 part formulas, they are ph neutral which makes them great for soil grows

just wanna throw it out after reading dimentions, at the most, only use like 1 gallon AT MOST for your pot... if you try using anything bigger, the lady will be hitting bulbs, and you'll have to train the fuck out of her...

Also, DON'T TRIM off her mid section to get better colas (or because of damage), she will get way taller than expected if you do that. IF your going to do 1 plant... top her once or twice, and strech out the 2-4 main's you'll get and be patient.

Just trimmed off a lot of dead shit from a soap project with spider mites, and killed a lot of the mid section of my ladies. trimmed it all off for the most part and in a 2.5 gal bucket of soil im tying her back already in the second week of flower i think from touching my 1000 watt cool tube thats almost 5 feet in the air... Although they are loving being so close, its counter productive to let them hog all the rays lol. (if its multiple plants). If its all one plant, do whatever the fuck you want. But if your sharing light with other plants, make sure they kinda get the same coverage, otherwise you'll end up with one huge bitch, and a bunch of small premies... no good.
