I just noticed a lot of holes in the sour cream and a ton of blemishes. Then all the sudden something landed on my face! Damn gnats! So I'm out to the store to get some sand and pesticides. Something for tomatoes. Don't feel like diving all the way to the hydro store to get FF spray.

Argh, I get back from buying some sand to cover the soil with I find a caterpillar on the sour scream! Just munching away. I was going to kill the thing but my wife had to save it's life. It ate a bunch of the bottom leaves on the Sour Cream. Definately not taking that plant outside anymore.

Put some sand down yesterday, haven't noticed any gnats. I haven't watered the plants since Monday morning. Soil is still plenty moist towards the bottom. So I'll probably hold off on water until tomorrow.

So i ended up driving an hour to a hydro store only to get there and see they had no Tiger Bloom. Something told me to call before I left. Ah well, I had to order it off amazon. EST of arrival is not until Next Thursday. :( Might hold off on flowering until then. SC isn't growing much at all.

I'm not ever taking my plants outside again. I found another caterpillar! The sand worked for the gnats, I haven't seen one since. Guess it's time to get something that will kill these damn things.

new pics!!!!!
lol, I'll take some after the lights come back on. I didn't find any more caterpillars. I was looking at them for about 30 minutes each and didn't spot anything anywhere. No gnats either. I removed the sand from the Sour Cream. Hopefully the gnat problem is gone. Gave them their first watering with molasses. runoff was rather low, pH of 5.9 for both, I pH upped the water to 7.1 before I gave it to them.

I think I'm going to flush the soil once the lights come back on. pH of 5.9 is rather low and might be causing the plants to slow down so much in growth. They haven't grown much in the past couple of days. They've been almost doubling in size from day to day, they seemed to start slowing Wednesday. Now they look to be creeping.

I would have to say the flush of the bubblelicous wasn't a success. I flushed it with 3 gal of 8.0 pH upped water and the pH of the runoff is 6.2. Don't worry I checked the calibration of my pH meter like 3 times today. I hope I didn't drown the plant. I'm not going to flush the Sour Cream, Just going to monitor that one and see how it reacts to the molasses watering I gave it earlier today.

I covered the top soil with sand. They can't live in sand because it's so dry and they will eventually die off. they were probably already close to death Beacuse I hadn't watered in 4 days. I haven't seen any, even today after I watered. I think the bubbelicous is doing better after the flush, leaves are perking back up and it looks a tad bit healthier and taller. Sour Cream, I'm still not sure. It does look better than it did. I don't think I'm going to flush it.

gnats are those little annoying things that never go away it seems. We have them bad where I live, it happens to be in the middle of nowhere, so we have tons of wildlife. I read an article that said your plant can go longer without water than the fungus gnats so not watering and covering top soil with sand is a good option.

I know it hasn't been very long but I stare at these plants all day and notice little things. They're both starting to grow again. Sour Cream was measured @ 5.5" and the Bubblelicous 6.5". The secondary growth is really taking off on the Bubble. I guess I better take pictures!

Day 23
Temp: 76-80
Humidity: 40-42%
Light: 20/4

Bit of bad news, I checked my email and I won't be getting my TigerB until the 21st. I seriously hate UPS. If it was going usps I know I'd have it by the end of the week. So I'll probably hold off on flowering until Wed/Thurs.
Should I clip the big fan leaves so the secondary growth can get more light?

Bubblelicous(I still dunno how to spell that)

If you only seen one I wouldn't worry about it too much. I killed 3 and put some sand down. I scraped it off before watering and never put any back. Awesome yours showed sex. I don't think mine will until I kick them into flower. The Bubblelicous is suppose to autoflower but I was reading someones thread and they said nirvana said it would take longer than expected like 9+ weeks of veg. I dunno about the Sour Cream. Kinda wishing I would have put it in a 2 gal bag or party cup and planted more Bubble.

Bit off topic! That F1 race sucked! My man Lewis crashed out on lap 1.. :( Oh well. Bring on Singapore. On to the plants. SC is 5.5" Bubble is 7.5" I've been measuring at the same point everyday and it is growing. I might end up putting them into flower Tuesday. Pictures in a little while.
