Hey all, I am Drumfounded! Long time lurker, first time grower (kind of). I have bed flirting with the idea of growing for many years now. After reading forums such as RIU and purchasing many books and magazines, I decided to take the plunge!
My grow history:
About five years ago I put bagseed into miracle grow potting mix inside a few red solo cups. I put them in a window and about three days after they broke the soil, my roomate threw them out. It was justified.
In febuary of this year I started cheese seeds in rockwool in a diy 'aeroponics' cloner. I used four different light before finally buying my 400 watt mh. By this time I had over watered, under watered and nute burned my 5 babies, who at two months old were all of 4 inches tall.
It was at this time I made a call for help. After all my research and studying, I had no idea what I was doing! The night of the call my friend showed up at my house to see what I was working with. We'll call this friend Bob.
Bob informed me that my grow method was useless and that I would never establish plants in my Diy cloner. He told me he could prepare me some fresh clones and offered me a great deal on the cap ebb and grow system and a 1000w hps. You got it, Bob!
Well, I bought the cap and the light. It came 11 buckets and 11 plants, perfect.
I set up the space, bought 100l of hydroton and started building. I replaced every connected and all the hoses. I also had to replace the fill pump and a float switch.
Now on to the future.
My grow:
This grow is and indoor grow. Cap ebb and grow with 11 buckets. 11 sweet grapefruit plants approximately three weeks from cutting. I currently have a 1000w hps AND a 400w mh on the plants. I was told both spectrums are great throughout the entire grow. Anything wrong about that? I have two small fans in the are to give the plants a breeze and hopefully strengthen them up. Temp ranges from 74-80. Lights are on 24/0. Humidity between 50-65. My ppm is around 900 using gh flora series with additives. Ph is at 5.7.
I will post pictures ASAP! I snapped a few earlier but are crappy pics.
Any suggestions on anything?!
I'm totally new to this and after buying this half busted system, my great friend has not been answering my calls. He was supposed to be my mentor!
Feeding times? I'm currently running 30 minutes, once a day. Is this good?
Dual spectrum? Is that okay?
Temp and humidity?
PPM?
