I wonder why people don't like to transplant. Yes I'm new to it, but it seems that after a transplant they kick into high gear overnight. Maybe its the superthrive or maybe its the bigger container.:-P

yes they do take off once you've went into bigger pots, as far as people not liking to transplant, alot of people think it stresses the plant out but imo its mostly what they've read, if your careful there is no ill effects at all.

Week 4 Description:
Week 4 was a breeze. I transplanted 4 of 5 of the plants into 5 gallon smart pots and gave them plenty of 350ppm, ph balanced water. No more rust spots have shown up :-P ever since I have sprayed with the fungicide. The light is about 17" above the canopy and there seems to be plenty of it. Iv been able to keep temps at around 75 - 80 and humidity at 50 with no problem. The plants are short, only about 7" from the dirt. I am guessing this is a great thing when using LED technology as the light can penetrate better. I have also noticed a dense forest growing under the fan leaves. A side note: Iv noticed at night they like to droop their fan leaves out maybe to give light to the leaves underneath but in the morning everything is perky again... just thought that was interesting. I bought an active carbon filter that is working wonders, no more smell at all. So all in all things are doing great! Let me know what you think so far as I am interested in what you guys have to say, this being my very first grow ever!

BTW, that last picture is of the plant I did not transfer to a larger pot. I left that one out by my window just to see what would happen as I will not be flowering it. You can see it has stretched quite a bit and is much less dense.

Thanks spex420! Maybe it is nute burn but that would have to be from the ffof soil as I was just using water.

As this is my first grow I am not sure if the blackstar is better or worse then anything else but when I go through the forums it seems my plants are growing just as well if not better then other setups. I deffinitly like the fact that I dont need tubing or ac and the electricity savings should be substantial. So far my kill-o-watt meter reads 168/kwh's so if I spend $.20 a kwh I have spent $33.00 for 1 month of veg (and that is with fans);-). Also having that small footprint is great when you only have so much height to work with.

Kool so your getting some money back of the initial cost of the light by saving on the electric :-)
does the light warm up the room much i know people say its warm to touch but if you left your fans off would your room over heat or are they really that cool?

Update:
I watered each one with half a gallon 650ppm ph balanced water. They are perky as all heck and grew an inch overnight! Stoked:lol:

I have not run the setup without fans on. If you run your computer at 100% CPU and put your hand by your exhaust fan that's about how much heat there is. When it's running, the tent temps are only a few degrees hotter then the room.

Weeks 5 - 8:
So to those in the future... This site was hacked and 4 weeks of pics and information has been lost . Here are the pics of the last 4 weeks. To sum it up, I have gone up to 1100ppm at this point and also upped my light with some additional CFLs (6x42watt). I also have moved to a 435cfm fan for cooling the tent. All the plants have turned out female with no sign of hermi. The temps are around 70-85 and humidity has been around 35 - 50. So far not too many problems.

I did a Blakstar600 grow late last year. They each pull about 340w of power. I'm not real excited about the small footprint but can't complain about the growth rate compared to same plants under 1000W HPS. I keep my canopy closer though. Like 8".
I feel I've done enough LED grows to say they are THE BEST choice for tents. Plants look great. Hope you put up some bud porn in about a month. Good luck buddy.
