So its my first grow and pretty excited to see the outcome and smoke it :bigjoint:

My set up is two 23W cfl's in a custom made rubbermaid grow box.

I started it about two and a half weeks ago and dont know if it is growing at the right speed. Havnt used any nutes yet but will start soon and need some advice on what one to use cause i have limited space in there and want to get the best yeild from it.

and dont know if you can see in the first pics but i put a pencil next to the plant because it was leaning at first but its straight now so should i leave it in there or take it out?

also comments / critisism or other helpful things to make this a success, thanks.

Very nice my box is pretty much the same setup. I will say though you need the light closer to the plant. It is stretching a lot more than my plants are. In my sig the link is there to my grow.

Yeah I have to agree foil isnt the best way to go from what i have read. Get the emergency blankets which have Mylar and spray adhesive that on to the side of the box. I could be wrong but this is what I have read everywhere.

your set up looks pretty good dude, but i hear foil can focus the light too much and burn holes in the plant? I dont know if this is true, but it hesitated me from doing it with mine.

O didnt know that about the foil, and its the tape version not the cooking stuff if that makes any difference.

And that is how i saw the person do it in the diy for the rubbermaid grow, and it makes more light in there since i only have two bulbs.

its true, tin foil causes hot spots and is not good to have in your grow room. mylar is the best thing to put it there to reflect the light, but if you cannot get mylar then you can go get one of those solar shades that you put in your car and line the grow area with one or two of those. they work tons better than foil does

You should ditch the pencil and fill it up with perlite to almost the bottom of the leaves to support the plant. Then lower the lights or get another medium sized fluorescent bulb not another cfl.

Bah! I couldn't find that gauge or fan when I looked at our walmart! Guess I'll have to check back again bongsmilie

As I am extremely new to this myself I will let the pros give their advice, but I hope your grow goes great!
