So this is my first go at growing, and so far so good. Finally seeing buds form and trichomes everywhere. So just a little back story, i bought 10 feminised light of jah seeds from amsterdam seedbank, and got 20 random free ones...the LOJ is sativa dominant. Currently in the flowering room there are 2 plants that came from excellent bud that i got when i was starting up this whole operation, 1 light of jah, and 1 random (tallest). The plants were vegged under cfls for 4 weeks, then put under 400w metal halide for another 5 weeks, so that was 9 weeks of veg. Lost 3 plants because they turned male...and wtf they were all Light of jah that was supposed to be feminized seeds...whatever... I also have 2 small plants in the flower room one is a random and one is another female light of jah. they have only been in 12/12 for 1 week

9 week veg under cfls and 400w mh
In 8x6X7 room in basement
Day time temp-80-90
night time temp 65-75 been getting colder out so hoping these temps drop
Humidity 50%
Outside air blowing in
Oscillating fan on plants
Carbon filter and inline fan blowing outside
Plants were lst'd about 2 weeks before going into flower
Light - 1- 360w HPS conversion bulb and 1-400w metal halide
GH Nutes, feeding 8ml micro 16ml bloom (lucas formula) and recently i have been giving 5 ml of cal mag after seeing leaf problems...pH'd to 6.8 and about 1200 ppm
Soil Fox farm ocean forest soil 33% mg perlite
5 gallon buckets feed every 5 days, flush every 4 weeks 2 gallons at a time

Let me know what you guys think..do i continue to give calmag through the entire grow?
This is my first time, so i am learning as i go along. But everything seems to be going good...i think im gonna have to think about some support for some of these big fuckers, they are starting to lean a lot. Also, Whats up with that one real tall fucker, i thought if anything the light of jah was gonna give me height issues.

in the picture with all of them, the plant all the way to the left is from that bag seed(really good bud), then next to the right is that really tall one, was just a random seed we got and has turned into this huge plant. Behind the random is another of that really good bud bagseed, then in the back right is the light of jah. The 2 small plants in front of the light of jah, is one random and one light of jah. the last 2 pictures are of the light of jah ( its the only one that hasn't really been getting a lot of trichomes, but there is plenty of time with that long flowering period for the sativa.

please let me know what you guys think and any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks, it really does look awesome...i am so glad that everything has worked out to this point. And yes, it was a very long veg time, but I didn't wanna go through all of this and get very little bud, so i figured do it right....hopefully the results will be worth it.

Are you saying ph seems high from the pictures or because i ph my nutes to 6.8? I was noticing the runoff was under 6 so i was trying to raise it by keeping my nute mix at a higher ph... I think im gonna flush next watering, and i will start ph'ing my mix to 6.5. In fact I guess i will pH my water to 6.5 as well for the flush.

Thanks, its getting really exciting now..do you think the second.picture, plant all the way to the left is sativa or indica dominant? I always thought it was indica based on the leaves, but looki.g at that picture it has those long thin blades. Idk if you could tell from just that, but maybe someone with more experience has an idea?

Just a little update...Day 42 since switching lights to 12/12. Things are looking good, but I was definetly kinda hoping to have bigger buds at this point, especially with the 9 week veg. i am thinking that maybe they will be plumping up in the coming weeks? Hope so. Should I be supplementing in any new nutes? Or just stick with what I have been using? Thinking about adding in molasses once I start the flush, but should i be giving anything different until then? Something to get bigger buds? Or is that just nonsense? Ok, onto the shots...i gotta get some pics with better lighting, these hps shots do no justice.
First 2 pics are Light of Jah, sativa dominant, just starting to get some trics on it finally.

also been seeing these little white flies the last week, so i got some fly traps and some water, vinegar, and dish soap to try and kill those little fuckers, they like to fly into the bud and im afraid they are gonna get stuck in there. any suggestions to get rid of them?

I just had the same white flies. I used neem oil i got from our local hydro store and followed the instructions. Seemed to get rid of them fast.

neem oil with buds forming like that? i would be hesitant to spray on them, but i would like to get rid of them fast...hmm...i will definetly look into that

I had gnats and that is the real problem, isn't it, that they
can get stuck to the buds.

This does happen. The gnats might not have affected my Crop
too much....it was progressing, but I was forced to take them before
they turn into fly-paper.

I have read that pepper type sprays can be used quite late. The soap
type "washes" are also an option.

Please post back your approach and it's effectiveness. This is an
area where most of us are still learning.

when i was just starting out I had alot of those little gnats flying around. I noticed they were coming out of the soil too. I searched around on the internet and found that filling a solo cup with apple cidar vinegar about 1/4-3/8 and adding a couple drops of dish soap should help kill them. Well between that and some fly traps it worked beautifully. I can't tell you how many of those gnats were floating around in that cup by the end of the week. Well that was then and this is now. I am trying it again, just threw the cups in last night, and have had the fly traps hanging for 2 nights. Nothing on the traps yet...i did see a bunch of dead flies on the hps bulb tho..haha, had to clean it off. I'll keep you guys updated as to what happens, and how I finally get rid of them. I would like to try and not spray anything at this point. I also have this bottle of dr. doom fogger, which I am contemplating using, but I also would rather not use this in the flowering room, at least not this late into flowering. First I'll see how the cups go, and take it from there...

Well, my little vinegar and dish soap trick didn't work at all on these white flies, but I will definetly use it if I ever have a gnat problem again, because it really worked well. But For the white flies I bought these yellow sticky fly traps from the hydro store, that are specifically for aphids and white flies. I also hung up those little twirly fly traps i got from the dollar store. At first it seemed like it wasn't working, but these things are so small, you really gotta get up close and take a look at the traps, and they are definetly helping. I have been noticing less and less of them, but they are still around here and there.

I am at day 51, or something like that. Switched light to 12/12 on 9/18. So that would be 7 weeks since switching the light schedule. Is this enough time to finish out a plant? Unfortunately I do not know the strain, so I do not know the flowering time, but some of these buds look about done to me. I am having trouble telling the difference between cloudy and clear trichomes, which tell me that they are probably clear and not ready, but the pistils are almost all browning and i haven't been seeing new white ones pop up, especially on some of the top colas. Tell me what you think. I know i need to take pics under better lighting. sorrry

first pic is bagseed of some really good light green bud i got
second pic is a random that came from amsterdam seed bank (dont mind that one leaf, it got a little too close to the light a couple weeks back)
3rd is a shot from different colas (LOJ sativa dom is in front, i know that one isn't ready yet, but everything else seems to be almost there)
