Hello let me start out by saying I have learned a lot and hope that posting this may let someone avoid my errors!
I have got quite a few grows under my belt in soil and outdoors but this is my first venture into hydro. I did my research but well..... you know you gotta learn for yourself on some things ><. my setup is based on Al B. Fuct's setup. Feel free to post if you have any suggestions or questions
Ok so first things first
THE SET-UP!
1 Veg room 3' x 2' with a 250 HPS intake and exaust fans
temps from 70F to 81F
Humidity never above 40%
lights about 12 inches from the plants atm
Plan to use granulated rockwool am prob gonna change to a rockwool perlite combo though as I think the pure RW holds too much H2O.
1 flowering room 5' by 5' with a 600 HPS cool tubed with 2 1.5'X3' flood tables plan on a 1 month rotation or 3 weeks depending on how strains work out. flowering room has central A/C(personally tapped lol) and is in a bathroom.
growing in here in pure perlite strating from the clone box SOG style
1 clone box about 2' high or so and fits a seedling mat with passive intake and thermostat. for clones it stay from 79 to 82F and max 40% humidity
I am doing what was going to be 10 of Ice Crystal and White Widow and 5 freebies MazarXafgan or whatever
these were from Marijuana-seeds.nl
shipping from them was great like 2 weeks then I read about the seeds ect well Im not gonna go there lol.
I am using Canna Aqua as my nutes(Side note here DONT EVER USE THESE IMHO!!! I have been fighting a mag def since jump street with my 200 PPM municipal water ><) I plan to switch to lucas formula or Flora nova as soon as I run out!
ok so on to the grow!
basically started up on March 9th
planted like 20 seeds including some bag seeds.
as you can see in the first pics!
Ok ALL but 2 die!
why you ask?
I didnt soak or flush the RW cubes!
newbie mistake #1!
We plant more on I belive the 18th
ALL but 4 die this time I feel either myself or my GF broke the tap roots inserting them into the cubes( prob my fault being the dirty soiler!) or was because we didnt flush the cubes and just soaked them in 5.0 tap water for 24 hours
newbie mistake #2!
ok so at this point we have 6 plants so I plant the remainder of the seeds we ordered from marijuana-seeds.nl.
on April fool's day!
THIS time we flush the cubes THEN soak them for 24 hours!!!!! we then also put the seeds in 5.8 glass of water till the dropped to the bottom then placed them into the RW cube holes(we will be making our own holes next time to the side of the factory hole as I feel it is too deep.
we lost 1 seedling this time due to not having the light on we think the thing grew out of its cube down onto the tray in a matter of 8 hours while we slept ><.
ALL others live!
Decided to order more seeds!!! can never have enough when your screwing up! lol. we went with the attitude seed bank!!! OMG sooo fast 7 days!!! we ordered:
20 Barney's farm Violator Kush( sounded the best almost went with the red diesil kinda kicking myself after I just got some sour diesil lol)
20 Nirvana seeds Ice (cause soo many died in our newbie attempts and Im a sucker for that pic!)
20 Paradise Seeds Belladonna (thank you DeweyKox for your thread to convince me!)
I also got along with all that the freebies of:
10 ThaiX SS
2 Gigabud Fem
2 purple lady Fem
and 1 SS Fem
sidenote on the Fem seeds Ive personally never grown them but they scare me as they are basically hermie plants or plants forced to go hermie and well I dont like hermies!
All of them pop within 4 days and open up for the light
4 days later moved to 250 HPS (too soon should have waited a few more days set them back 3-6 days from light burn I belive)
started fighting a mold/fungus issue on about April 13th. Pics show some plates ect on the pots. and the last 3 pics are of the mold/fungus *** Any ideas on this would be helpful!*** links to those posts

I belive 1 of the original WW from the original newbie batch lol are female I belive the other is male.
I never knew about the preflowers!!
I took clones from both though just incase on 4/24 I took 6 from the plant I belive is female and 4 from the one I think is male just in case!
no pics of the clones yet Ill run up and take some thugh and post next time along with a current group shot.
Next week or so I plan to clone the other 4 larger plants to sex them (I already belive 2 are female). As soon as they sex I can clear room and transplant plants to larger pots.
As for the plans with the seeds I ordered
after a crop or a crop and a half I expect to be able to cut down my veg room to 2-3 mothers and then I will be planting 10 of the Belladonna first then possible some Violator kush. With al lthe freebies and a bagseed I found at some point I plan on just doing a sprout then flouros for a week or 2 then throw right into the flowering room to see what the put out and see if there is any quality there. If there is then I will harvest then snap back anything that is good.
Anyways this post is wayyyy long so Im gonna stop now lol. Feel free to post with questions or suggestions!
