First ever grow.

I’m planning to step this up to 12 plant perpetual harvest. I have 3 tents , one4x4 veg with 600 mh, one 5x5 1000 watt hps , one 4x8 dual 630 cmh by vivosun sun. I’ll be running genralhydropincs nutrients . Started my seedlings April 5, 2020. Started them in distilled water for 24 hours , transplanted to 1.5 Rockwool cubes , propagated 4 days , they took off quicker than expected , i acclimated them to the air over those days , and now have them under my 600 mh running 24 hours a day. One main window unit ac in my room. Have been maintaining temps of about 78 degrees so far in my tent . I will be running 4” Rockwool cubes, in hydroton pots , next run I’ll put Rockwool in coco to see the results and choose which I like . My buckets are 6 inch. Hydro top feed.

Any questions about my set up ask away, I’ll post a pic of my room soon ! I wanted to run a 1000 watt hps flower tent and 1260cmh flower tent to see which light truly did better for me . As I’ve researched a million things and never found anything I was looking for . During my
Test runs which I did for about 3 days all of tents kept the same approximate temp , highs broke into about 84* and lows about 70*. I started with a portable ac , it wouldn’t keep up and the ducting was hell , so I bought a 6000 btu window unit , I run it pretty much all day , I give it a coupe breaks through out the day for about an hour.

Regarding my original picture I posted , the purple cap in the back is a reference for the strains I’m running , starting with the ones closest to the purple cap , I have white widow(seedsmanseeds) , power plant (dutchpassion), black sugar(seedsmanseeds) , sweet cheese(sweetseeds)

Presoaked 4” Rockwool cubes in 5.5 ph nutrient Rich distilled water , let them semi dry out and transplanted into them , still noticing discoloration, my
Guess is either to big of a light to have started with (600 my vivosun) or my humidity issues , I haven’t been able to keep my
Humidities above 50% even with a humidifier in the tent running 24/7. Feed welcomed

tbh I dont like rockwool that's why I like my coco better retention of water and holds nutes better but I got no clue what's going on with your plants doe.

with coco u should add perlite to because it just add better aeration to the coco helps a lot with wet/dry cycles. :peace:

How do you set up your water cycles? As in, do you just for ease of reference , water with 1 gallon and wait for 20% run off , or do you water enough to saturate with no drainage , and flush every once and a while with regular water ?

I usually wait till its pretty dry like a inch bone dry then I usually water with a little bit of runoff I don't even have 20% I put such a little amount of nutes in the soil it doesn't matter. this run I did not enough p so their pretty p def.

How strong was that nutrient rich distilled water? I'm assuming you added nutrients to it and it's not just some bottled nutrient enriched water.

for ever 1ml per gallon I used .5ml, as seedlings I water with distilled water with a very minute amount of flora micro . Not even a 1/4 ml probably

Honestly pretty proud , brought them back to life and they are happy in my opinion! I removed my 600 watt mh , replaced with my 2x4 t5 8bulb. I brought my humidity levels back almost perfect according to my vpd chart . They look like they are loving it and color is is coming back ! Everyday there is so Much learning , enjoying the process ! I was too ahead of my self and didn’t let the seedling stage finish , hopefully the rest of the grow goes smooth and we see some great results

any body with opinions on these temps and humidity. I try to follow my vpd charts as best I can but I’ve been having to settle for about 50% humidity most of the grow unless I put a humidity dome over them. This is with running an ac 24/7 , temps and humidity have been my biggest issues so far.

Such a a learning process , trial and error ! I hope some
Newbies like me find some kind of useful information in this ! So yesterday I wanted to see how much of a difference my 8 bulb t5 made vs my 600 vivosun air cooled mh. By far , temps hold so much better and humidity is way better with the air cooled mh, the heat from the t5 was hard to control , frequently spiking my tent to about 82 degrees , even with a portable ac on 68 dedicated just for that tent ! Even when temps were about 70 degrees outside ! Over the past day I kept the mh in my tent , my humidity levels are near perfect and my temps are so much easier to control. My ac is set to 70 and holding temps about 75. Vs with the t5 my ac set at 68 and temps holding about 80.
