First DWC grow

Starting to straighten things out.. nice to see someone open to change or realize that you must ask/listen then apply advice to reap the rewards. Most just ask and expect things to just magically get better, because they are lazy. They will never be great growers, you my friend are not one of them and looks like you are on the way to greatness. Congrats man..

As I always preach these things take a lot of abuse yet many have such a hard time growing them, it all boils down to putting the effort into it, and it will repay you tenfold.

Thanks yo!

Personally I love learning new things in the room. At first I was a bit too open to new ideas and was switching up styles too often and it really delayed my progress.

Going to stick with dwc for a while. I still need to get seed starts down, this PE is taking forever still.

Yeah I got seedling mat that I use when they're in the tray. I think I'm just not feeding enough nutes in the beginning. Too afraid of burning them. I start off at .2 EC but maybe I should go higher. Because it seems kind of consistent that the tips yellow and then it works in and slow growth with purple tinted new growth.

I trimmed veneno and fruity chronic juice last night and topped the side growth. They look much better nowm. Hopefully this diverts more energy into vertical growth and node growth. The veneno went over a ft yesterday. Catching up quickly. So far its eating the most also.

I also changed over the reservoirs last night. I upped the water level an inch and am feeding 1EC still. New batch of tea will be done today.

PE is a pretty heavy feeder once she gets goin. I'd say u coulda started @ 0.5EC and max veg ~1.5EC I would guess.

Day 56: 1 Week left of veg

Veneno - 5.7/1.05EC/18C
Bubba 76 - 6.0/1.02EC/18C
FCJ - 6.0/.98EC/18C
PE - 5.7/.46EC/18C

top progress.jpgcleaned upaway.jpgcleaned up.jpg
FCJ - Top progress(only 1 coming up so far), and some trim shots, it was really bushy before this, I didn't want to remove that bottom node only because its grown up to the top canopy, if that changes I will

weirdleaftwistveneno.jpgcleanedupveneno.jpgtopprogress.jpg
Veneno - Weird twisted leaf, trim job, and the last picture is top progress(looks like it worked)

DSC03802.jpgspots.jpgb76under.jpg
Bubba 76 - Random side shot, random spots; short, parallel undergrowth due to those fat leaves at their droop. I did read something mogie posted with pasted conversations going over the flaws of trimming fan leafs, must of been from some other forum cause he was citing different names. Basically it said that only about 15-20% of light is absorbed into the leaf and the rest passes through aside from green spectrum lights. Not sure how accurate any of this is, but it was interesting I thought.

Applied tea 2 cups per bucket. I wish I had soaked RW cubes so I could have practiced cloning with the trim I took off FCJ, that looks like a nice strain. Lot of strong nodular growth that reaches up tall, must be good.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll up it to .6EC. How was the afghan kush you ran as far as hunger? I'm going to be running that next.

I'd pass on the barneys (TD is 90% problems 10% amazing, low odds of greatness) and ghs personally but it's all opinion. I really like G13 Labs and World of Seeds, might want to check out their products.

i read about the tangerine having troubles too, but ordered it anyways. 3/3 healthy germs for me.

Veg isn't where it has trouble. Flower is. Some people reporting 15 weeks+, lack of density, and just overall inconsistency. Of all the phenos of it I've seen there's only been ONE I've actually wanted to have. Seen 20+ grows of it, that's not great odds.

I hope Barney's violator kush is good. Glad I didn't get much gear from them despite all their trophies. I was going to get a couple VK seeds to put me over the 35 spending limit to get attitudes bday promo, but I got a couple chocolopes instead.

It looks like I messed up the top on the FCJ not sure how. It still hasn't put out anything while the veneno and b76 have 2 tops coming in now.

I can't wait to put them into flower under some nice 600w HPS lighting and see some bud growth.

Grew straight Chocolope early on, not the greatest plant. Finicky and less then great yields, if you run a lot of them then its fine. I am running Kosher Kush x Chocolope (DNA) now and hope this gets better yields for me and smoke.

Yeah ill probably run both seeds and take clones from them and flower the 2 seeds to see which one out performs the other. And if they both weren't great ill just toss em. If I like em ill keep the best for a mom and run it.

What I plan on doing for most of my seeds I have. I gotta get the ball rolling on that. Seeds can't be good forever. I'm storing them wrapped in aluminum foil in rice inside a mason jar in the fridge. Be good for a couple years atleast.

Another myth .. I have popped seeds from 3 years old in just the baggies they came with from Attitude stored in my drawer in my grow room. You need no magic, special containers, freezers or other non-sense to store seeds for a few years.

Yeah I just use a small wooden box to keep them all in one place, have almost a thousand sees in there 100+ which are purchased. But yeah I toss those silica dry packs that come with shit u buy in there once in a while to help keep the moisture out (summers it can be 65%+ here).

Silica dry packs is great idea, I am going to keep a few I find and use them for this! Thanks.

The rice acts as a desiccant just like the silica gel does. Draws out moisture.

Overkill or not, I had all the materials to do it already so a free investment to protect my 500 dollar investment is a plenty good idea.

My seedsman seeds pack instructed to do it this way and gave me gel caps that turn dark green when the humidity is too high and just sitting out in the room was too high for it. They're light green in the fridge. Aluminum foil blocks out the light from the fridge being opened.

Some people from the seeds and strains part of this forum suggested the fridge also.
