First CFL Grow (PICS)

Today we decided to transplant our "big" plants. Upon doing this we noticed some little white hairs on our indica plant. (YAY!)

In regards to our indica plant we were facing a losing battle with the nitrogen problem, we decided to cut the plant and make a bunch of clones out of it. (it was also getting too big for our space.) So hopefully they all root. Wehn we chopped it down, we noticed the base of the plant was very wobblely, so when cut upon further inspection we noticed it had root rot. So maybe that was also the cause of the yellowing leaves, who knows.

We raised the lights to allow room for the "big" plants to grow some more aswell. We see the buds growing more and more everyday (totally exciting!).

Here are some pictures of the process and its outcome.

Yeah one time i had one that stopped growing and slowly started turning yellow. All the other plants shot passed it so I finally up rooted it and about 3 inches deep in the ground it was mud. I put rocks and large holes at the bottom, drains great. How many watts total you think you got now with the new tree of bulbs?

wow dude i would never guess ur a new grower with all these nifty contraptions youve come up with... the soda can light reflectors, using a clear plastic cup as a humidity dome.. and ur plants look so healthy (except the one with the root rot and im sorry that happened to you) i currently have some clones that i started 2 days ago. i am going to begin an indoor grow soon and will be implementing a few of your designs :blsmoke:
happy growing and good luck with ur clones!

Well there was nothing left to the base of the stem to this one, it was just brown goo. We already chopped it and made 7 clones out of it and all of them seem to be doing well.

As for the bulb tree, there are 6 60watt cfls that are 13w equivalent. So until i can afford more splitters we can't put teh rest of the lightbulbs in yet. we've got about 4 more to go in.

Thanks. Well we did alot of research and kind of mixed a few ideas together. Nervanuh worked many hours perfecting it lol but for now I think we got it as good as it can be until we get some more cash. Are you starting a journal/thread yourself?

Hey everyone! This is my first grow so any and all suggestions or tips is completely welcomed!:hump:

I'm growing 4 plants (3 of the same unknown bagseed strain and 1 of a seperate unkown kush strain) in a custom rubbermaid laundry hamper that I decided to create.

The box is approx. 18x15x25 inches. I have 3 pc fans blowing on 7 cfl's crammed in the box and the plants seem to be doing good. I made energy drink tall-can reflectors to focus the light intensity on the plants, seems to work well.:peace:

I'm currently running a 20/4 light cycle that seems to do just fine. I have to water them about once every day and a half, it gets fairly warm during the day and with the fans constantly blowing, sometimes have to water them more frequently. I fertilize with generic MG diluted plant food about once a week as well.

I plan on transplanting into bigger pots when my foxfarms ocean forest soil arrives, topping the plants then flowering, leaving time in between for the plants to recover and hopefully they turn out good.:blsmoke:

Any comments are greatly appreciated! I will try to answer any questions you have as best I can...

Here's a few pics of the plants from today, and a few older pics of the nursery.

Cheers!:weed:
Those bigger plants are heat stressed. other than the curling of the leaves they look great

lookin good hope the clones root well for ya!!! are your lights still on 24/0? switch to 12/12 yet? if not you should make another section in your garden for flowering... so you cant get some good ol' homegrown smoke

Plants lookin good bro . My comp is out of commision for a while so all I have is this iPod. Can't really see the pics very well on this thing so I'll have to get a better look when I get the comp back. I'll go ahead and sub for the rest of this on.

Thanks us too! The lights have been on 12/12 for about a week now, all together, the first clones we took have been on 12/12 with them aswell, they rooted really fast, the new clones from the indica plant are on 12/12 aswell, we figured after having such good luck with the first batch of them, we might as well keep them at 12/12

i kind of agree with you. As i started with cfls. The thing is if you buy 5 or 6 64 watt cfl's you can buy a cheap 400 watt hps.

BUT cfl's are better then nothing and at my local Lowes you can get 6 flowering 26 watt cfl bulbs for 5 bucks because it comes with a $6 instant rebate because its a 6 pack cfl. All the cfls for that matter have a instant rebate. Not sure if its just my state.

Also mollasysis is great carbs for the beneficial microbe and fungal life in your soil that shares a symbiotic relationship ( they feed each other) with your plant

So upon watering our plants today, our clones have double in size since my last photo-update. Figured I would take pics with measurements, so here they are!

I also, flushed the clones, going to try the flush and wick procedure. A couple have some good budsites starting on the colas aswell as down the main stem.

Our Mamas are doign great, budsites are getting bigger!
I included a couple pics of the mamas aswell. I would have taken more, but its tough to get them in and out of the closet as we have to take the fans and the light tree out. so i just water and rotate them.

Enjoy!
