This is not my first grow, however, this is my first box grow:clap:. Traditionally I prefer to make my own rooms in a basement. Since my new domicile has no basement :-( this was my best option for optimal grow space, that is until I am able to upgrade to a tent, but lets take it one step @ a time. The dimensions are as follows 8" 1-1/2' L x 4" 10' W x 4" T divided into equal 4" x 4" (aprox) chambers. My genetics are mostly OG Kush from cali connect (bag # 7,6,5,8,3,4,2) and sugar black rose #9 was my only survivor for that strain. Recently I added three pre-Royal, Purple Kush girls that I acquired through a good friend and long time breeder as well as two Sour OG clones from said connect. The following pictures are ranging from 1 wk to 5wks veg, and day 2 budding for girls 7 & 3. The box is on cinder blocks to keep it off the floor as some water recedes into the garage when it rains due to the last home owner being kind of a dumb ass, but i have dehumidifiers on hand so on the days it does rain we can nip that shit in the ass:idea:. Originally when i set up the veg the bulbs where 4100k GE 20W, only lasted about a week before i realized that my girls where not receiving the proper light :o so I investigated on here in the CFL/Flourecent section got some advice about proper spectrum and made adjustments accordingly, so they did suffer from some poor light conditions leaving them a little smaller than i wanted, but over all i have seen nice clean and even growth. That was until the thrips:wall:. At about week 3 I noticed some yellowing, and like little fine point sharpie like yellow marks on the leaves:cry:. Did more research and found out that those assholes where scraping the underside of my babies skin off i took radical action:evil:!!! Laddy bugs and Aza Max. In little less that 9 days i noticed that there was not ONE microscopic inch worm eating my precious girls. There is still a small colony of surviving lady bugs, a lot got trapped in the gorilla tapes lose corners or escaped. #7 @ one point either had to much nitrogen or was over watered because she was giving me the bear claw:cuss:. So i let her dry out and then flushed very well and now she is looking sweet in the bud chamber. I do plan to scrog out my bud chamber as well its just a work in progress one step at a time and what not.

Forgot to talk about my nutrients, I am currently using Technaflora's Recipe for Success @ 1/2 strength i started @ 1/4 and they seemed to enjoy it so i gradually move it up, i plan to put new babies in the bud cham about every two weeks, but i might wait 4 wks before i move the next set in it depends on growth and progress, yhakno! As far as water goes, distilled water pH balanced after nuts.

Howdy Pal,

Welcome to Scrog! Thanks for the share. What are your plans for filling the screen? Are you training the plants to fill a larger area or simply using numbers to SOG? Having larger a hole size in your screen than the distance between internodes (typically only a few inches at most) means that your going to have more than one cola for each hole. You loose a bit of the principle in this manner. If your SOG growing into a trellis, I would suggest topping and training prior to them being supported. You have plenty of time to make needed changes and I would also suggest possibly changing the material used for creating your screen. (nice job on the tying BTW) Twine retains moisture and presents molding and mildew issues especially if your having environmental control problems with rain. If its at all possible, fix that issue!

If you have yet to read through the thread Enter the Scrog/Scroggers United Post Page, it may be of help to you. Other folks are actively sharing pointers and experience and can likely continue to answer questions for you as you grow.

Enjoy your run, its a curve!

Curiosity is getting me - Whats your theory behind the inside out grow bags?

If I had to guess, using the black to improve soil temps for seedlings may possibly be helpful in some situations however, be aware that the opposite may also be true if they are flowering in the same bag.

I don't do much advice on plant health (there is plenty of better help round here) but would share my opinion that the soil being used is not ideal and seems a hot for seedlings. Be aware of soils with large bark chunks, they break down and change soil PH. They house beneficial organisms well, but are better suited for cultivation of other species outside the cannabis family.

During the years that I was unable to obtain better soil, I would build a little table frame that could sit over a tote with fine mesh (1/4") stapled down as a strainer. The bags of soil were poured over the mesh and the finer material filters through leaving those large parts behind on top. For most folks, it simply easier to choose a better soil.. Roots Organic is available most everywhere. Search it.

GL!

Yes initially it was to raise temps of soil i worry about the upcoming winter, so aside from ducting a small heater into both chambers i am turning my turning my bags inside out. As far as soil goes, i am using 50/50 Roots Organic Greenfeilds/Fox Farm Happy Frgog, i like your idea about meshing your soil before hand not something i thought about, but i assure you i will be going to get some screening from the Depot. and finely sifting my dirt! As far as the screening for my scrog, no i didnt consider the moisture and mold factor from the hemp! It also sounds like maybe the holes are to big from what you have said here, and what i have seen throughout your Enter the SCROG post. And as far as training i think i FIM'd a little too early. I am trying one that i did nothing to i topped it last night, turned the top into (hopefully) a clone. Girls 7 & 3 in the bud cham. are finally showing sexy parts so i am excited for that, now i have read a few different places that your "bud cycle" doesn't actually start until they have "transitioned" from veg to bud, can you validate or debunk any of this?

I bought some Crystal Burst and Gravity and Snow Storm Ultra from Humboldt County's Own. With in the first two days after feeding my two oldest I started to notice a drastic difference in the resin production. I also purchased a microscope to view my beautiful tiny tricombs. I will see I can jerry rig my camera to the micro so I can share!

Well i had to remove the tresseling because i thought that i was going to have to move ALL of my vegging girls to the bud side!!!! but after some calm collective thinking between my wife and i, also i got married recently!!, we put a couple CFL's in the veg side for now to suplement the lighting that we lost! so with all of that in mind, oh and this morning my HPS burned out so it has a brand new GE 250w HPS for budd, here are the girls!!!
