Today i will be cutting my first grow down. I started with 10 unknown seeds and ended up with 1 female. I have no idea on exactly how long to leave it hang or in what conditions ? Ive also heard of curing in jars which i have but do not know what stage they come into play.
Help would be greatly appreciated :weed:

first off nice plant. congrats. hang your plants upside down in a cool dark place untill the stem snapps. then put them into glass jars for a cure and burp the jars once a day meaning for like 5 min a day take the lid off the jar and let some air get it do that for like a week or two to let out the remaining chloraphyll. then just leave them in the jars untill you smoke them.
they are best after a 90 day cure!!!!!!!

Yes i'm sure i was going to harvest a week ago but decided to wait im glad i did because the buds have swollen in the last 2 weeks and now the leaves are falling off and yellow which is one sign and my tri's are 50% amber

hmm I just dont see it being 50% amber... Are you sure about that? They look about 50% cloudy to me....
Did you try a sample by any chance?

edit: yeah you can tell my the width of the leafs and the spacing of the nodes if it is sativa or indica
how long has it been flowering for?

Are you saying you can determine what this plant is either Sativa or indica ?
Yes, you can tell by the leaves if it is Indica or Sativa.

Sativas have long, skinny leaves and Indicas are shorter and fatter.

You have a Sativa and I also would leave it for another week to two weeks. The pistils are all white so I seriously doubt your trichomes have turned amber.

As far as drying and harvesting, do a search or look at the Grow Guide on the Nrivana web site for specific instructions.

Nice plants though!!!

You will be really happy if you have a bit more patience. You couls pull a small nug off now and fast dry it in the Micro (makes for a harsh smoke but will tell you the high you will get at this stage).

Sativas can take up to 120 days of flowering, so like I said....

Patience :)

yes it is true, but we will all define "peak" differently. As time goes by the buds get riper, meaning they increase their canabinoid resin. There are two main canabinoids, CBD and CBN, these are molecules that bind to the same receptors in ur brain as THC, which is produced during curing and ripening as the CBD and CBN break down. CBD and CBN do different things; one provides the heady high, one is the couch lock high. So at some point in the grow, you will have ideal levels of both for your favorite kind of stone. When? Almost no way to tell, but when the trichs are turning amber that is an indication of CBN production. When half are amber you have a good mix of both chemicals which is when most people harvest providing what most would say is the best effect. Some harvest early for the head rush stone and some harvest late for the sleepy stone. It all depends on what ur wanting from the weed. However, it won't start getting less POTENT until u are far far past the best time lol, and no matter what chems are in the plant at harvest, a good cure is what finishes converting those canabinoids to THC which we all seem to enjoy more.

so basically don't WORRY about it, but yes, there is a best time to harvest. the window is large though, days long, so it's hard to miss and impossible to "fuck up".

Very informative thank you ! Through this thread i have decided to not cut yet. Everyone says wait so ill def give it more time. It seems like it wont hurt and considering that the buds keep swelling i have no reason to cut.

yeah the buds begin to "pod up" as they go into the late stage of flowering. the individual cone-like pods develop more pods on themselves and you end up with almost asparagus tip like growths. Depending on the strain of course.
