i am using an aero setup and have some AN final phase and im trying to figure out the best time to use it. if i have an 8 week strain would i start the flush at week 8 or still give nutes at week 8 to build on more weight and flush after 8? i am in almost week 4 of flower right now.

also what is a good amount of time for flushing. i have read different people saying different things between the ranges of 5 days to 2 weeks. any suggestions on this also?

i seem to think that a flush is a feel it out type of thing. when you look at you plants and the chromes begin to amber and your plants is close to finish you begin the flush. this will let the plant use up its store nutes and will still finish as you want it to. thats just me. some say the longer you flush the easier smoke. but i feel its all on you and your plant

so if i waited untill my trichomes were half cloudy and half amber to flush, will i still end up with the half and half after about a week flush or will it go more amber? do i need to start early to reach the half and half? any info is appreciated and +rep. i always rep anyone who helps me anyway lol. also what about flush times? will one week make my buds taste good even though im not using all organic nutes?

exactly when they start to turn cloudy then start your flush. the plant will use up its store nutes and it will continue to live with just water for a little while if it isnt finished as the book says. remeber its just a guide line when they tell you 8 weeks some take 9 to 10 and some asson as 7. hense the 2 week buffer they put one the site when your buying them. it is a rough idea and every plant is different and every grower is different and every grow for that matter is.

Well the point of using final phase is to be able to flush later so you can use nutes longer and pack on a lil more weight late in the game. Normally I would start flushing at week 6 for an eight week strain but if you are using the final phase you could literally flush a few days before harvest. For best results wait till week 7 [personally I would wait for 10-25% amber hairs instead of a specific week] then I would switch out res with fresh water only for 24-48 hours hours. Then I would switch out res again with totally new fresh water and add final phase for the remaining 5 days before you chop. Then leave the lights off for the last 72 hours and you should be golden.

I use Final Phase on all of my grows and would administer 2ml per litre of solution 4 to 10 days before chopping. It is simple just put the required amount of Final Phase into your solution and let it irrigate for 6 hours, then remove the solution and add fresh water and carry on flushing till the end.
Remember to use just fresh water no need for PH up or down.

Why wouldn't you want to ph adjust the water you're flushing with???

PH up and down are only used to control plant nutrient uptake so the when you are trying to stop the plant taking nutrients like when you are in flush there is no need to add any form of PH managment.
And why would you want to add chemicals when your goal is to achieve removal of chemicals.

i was also thinking the same thing about why not add ph up or down but what you just said makes sense.

lol I put that backwards, final phase first then pure water for the remaining days. Any yes, plant can live fine at a ph of 5 - 7.5. 5.5 to 6 is just the "sweet spot" for nutrient uptake in hydro. Avoid all chemicals when flushing. Even high ppm water or chlorine can f it up.
