filtered water or not

Ive read on this forum that you shouldnt use filtered water,, like the pur ones that attach to your kitchen sink faucet or any charcoal type of a filter,,, why not,,, I had to try it anyway and I dont see anything bad, but quite the opposie???? anyone??????

Its not recommened but that does not mean that it dosent work. With so many variables do what works is what I say.

yeah I get that,,, I was just wondering if there is an actual legitimate reason for not using that kind of filtered water.......

They typically still contain a very small amount of dissolved solids, more so than distilled or a good RO system anyway.

It's probably nothing to worry about it. They do take out the chlorine, so that's a plus.

well thanx for the info,, Im not going to worry about it and use it and see how these ones come out.......

I use one of those carbon filters, for myself, the cats, and the plants. For kicks, I measured the PPM of my tap and the PPM of a recently changed filter, from 274 to 228. Needless to say, I was not impressed and am now saving up for a decent RO filter.

i use one of the britta ones, it takes the tap water from 270 ppm to 70-80 so they do work, as the filter gets clogged the ppm will go up

Been using unfiltered tap water for 20 years with no problems.

I've been using tap also, for 5 years now.

Depending on where u live water may not b ur problem,, unfortunately some of us have very, very, bad water that is not even legal to drink in most states, but here they say its just fine,,, what bulshit... anything that tastes that bad cant b good for you,, especially 8 or 9 glasses a day..... so my plants will not b drinking it either,,, maybe thats why nothing grows here........

i use to install filters and R/O Systems If tap water is ok The you can use filter water, i do. Its going to remove most of the chlorine in the water and catch most of the sediments in the water but they do not change the ppm or TDS very much at all R/O system is the best only thing is R/O system sends about 70% of the water down the drain and it can throw you PH off.
