Few pics of LST vs non-LST

These girls are gold leaf autos from ILGM. Both popped on November 20th. I’ve seen a lot of talk about let or not for autos so I wanted to do a comparison for myself and anyone else that’s interested. As you can tell the one on the left was the lst plant. It started flowering about 5 or so days later than the other. While the non lst is packing on the weight I think the other will be just as heavy with time. I’ll keep this updated and especially with final weight. I’m thinking maybe 2-3 weeks left for the one on the right, as it’s getting bigger and putting on weight FAST.

I’m curious to see a real smoke report do they lose their potency when you LS ? I’m going to follow your grow Because I’m running a couple autoflowers now and I am pretty close to topin and cropping soon

LST is not related to potency one bit. It is a way to get light to the inside of the plant. But most importantly, it gets all the bud sights equal so they all get the same amount of light.

Years ago, when I was growing 2-3 plants, I used to LST. It worked great. My plant count has increased over the years and LST has become too much work. I quickly realized by chopping the top bud, it gave the other bud sites time to catch up. Here is one I harvested yesterday.

Notice no top bud. I cut it off early.

If space is an issue, LST is definitely your friend.

I’m definitely thinking about it I’m running in a 36x20x62 As far as what I read so far that should give me enough space for 3 good autos I have no problem with the temp or humidity everything is on the dial without me doing anything @18/6

My advice. Get off that 18/6 shit. These are not vegging photos. Run your autos 24/0 or 20/4. With autos the clock is ticking second by second. Throw everything at them.

I’ve been running autos 24/0 under my 600hps from seed to harvest consistently for 11 years. (Well it was a 400 for the first several years.)

Books may say otherwise. I don’t grow by cannabis books. I’m a trial and error guy. 24/0 or, to save a bit of money, 20/4 are perfect for autos.

Just my 2

Well a little update, the lst plant hermi’d on me for and I didn’t want any pollen getting around so I got it out of my room today when I noticed. I also harvested the non lst auto. I’m gonna guess around 3 oz dry but here’s a pic of the top cola. Didn’t think to take any others

You would need a very large sample size to really compare pros and cons of lst (at least a dozen but more would be better). Auto genetics are unpredictable. A plant that flowers at day 20 vs day 25 will ultimately be almost half the size. When autos get to the end of their veg cycle every extra day is precious.

Day 23 fastbuds gsc. Last day of main lst ,gonna let her grow, what ya think?
Looks good. Next time maybe consider sticking a bamboo stake in and tie it to that. I tied mine every 3 days when i watered and they came out really nice. BTW stay away from purple strains from fastbuds..... They have no potency. I ended up not having to tie down very many branches, i just bent them as they grew. This lemon ak never flowered (the one that did was amazing) but it does a good job showcasing my training.

I was going to do something similar but bring it down all the way horizontal. I was trying to cram as many plants into my room as possible. It never penciled out.

Something like this. Top view.

No need to go fully horizontal. My plants filled out my tent VERY nicely. Most of them formed very nice canopies for being autos especially that short pineapple in the back.
