Feminized seeds

I see nowhere where op said fem was better than reg or vice versa. He simply asked if fem seeds were more stable now than they were a few yrs ago.
I've run fems for cpl yrs with no probs, like someone posted earlier was most like;y bad genetics or improperly stored beans.

I don't do the whole argue with people on the internet, but right there is where you inferred it.

So there was bad breeding practices used, or the seeds were old or something. Understandable why your seeds didn't work.

Not trying to be a dick, but here you infer the same thing in this post. Yes they are fine, if you use reputable breeders who have good quality standards and test their gear or at least semi-test their gear * run some plants themselves without doing a massive test with the public*

This poisoned with silver thing is not exactly accurate, hormonally manipulated I would say is more accurate.

As for peoples fems are more hemie prone then regs. Put 50 reg seeds vs. 50 femmed seeds. reg seeds say 25/25 fem:male just for simplicity, while all 50 fems are well female... you are going to find more issues with the 50 females rather then the 25 females and 25 culled males. That's one part of it I believe personally that's just my opinion. Some breeders do suck though.

I'd say it's more likely you just got a bad batch of seeds, IMO and limited experience fems are just as good as regs. I had a reg seed hermie in my last run.
"Are the new generation of fem seeds better now? What have your experiences been with these?" True, in my quote there is an implication, but it's not mine personally. It comes from the information available at that time, a few years ago, when many people complained about the reliability of fem seeds. That's a fact, not my opinion, which I merely reiterated more than once in my posts. Just saying...

Anyway, I've had reg seeds hermie too. That's natural, so it stands that fems will too on occasion. So the question is about frequency of hermies. If fem seeds don't hermie more frequently than reg seeds anymore then maybe they are worth a try. And I guess that's what I was asking when I asked about what fem seed users are experiencing.

Thanks. This is all I was looking for....

Hopefully, there's more like you that are having success, which would be very encouraging...

No worries man :) things can get taken out of context online easily.

I have had good experiences with the strains I have ran from femmed seeds. Smoking some right now :) It's doing the trick :) I'd say it's more down to the genetics. Research what you buy, and you should be A-OK.

Hi Gquebed,

due to space constraints I only grow feminized beans, so can't give you a proper comparison, but what I can say is that almost all of them have been perfectly fine - the only exceptions were 3 x LA confidential from DNA - none of these germed at all (bought from attitude on pick n mix deal - were probably old stock, so I gave up after waiting about 10 days, and popped some chocolopes instead - good decision!) - and 1 x Super Lemon Haze from GHS, which did germ, but grew very slowly and I eventually gave up and killed it, because I would still have been waiting I think. (also Pick n mix from attitude)

To be honest, I didn't feel like these problems were specific to the fact they were feminized and more to do with the quality of the storage of the seed.

Other than that not a single hermie or issue - all fine, and from a variety of breeders too.

Hope that helps!

It does help. The more people that put positive experiences with fem seeds the more confidence I (and others) will have in them. The fact that you only use fem seeds and have had so few problems is very encouraging. thanks :)

Cool man

I honestly don't think there's much to worry about - like you said in one of your previous posts, you get herms from regular seeds too - the nature of genetics passing from one generation to the next means that you'll get the odd one that comes out crook, but for me, generally speaking, fems work just fine.

The two in the pics are Sugar Black Rose from Delicious Seeds (left), and The OG # 18 from Reserva Privada (right) - both fems, both happy as you like!

Only problem is I may have misjudged my soil mix, and the OG is starting to fade a tad bit too soon, but that's my fault lol!

Others breeders that I like are Sannies (and all his assoiciates - I've got some Herijuana just popped), DNA (in spite of LA con's failure) and (although some people slate them) Nirvana - affordable, reliable and good quality all round.

Peace

Which breeders chocolope did you run? I've got a couple Dinafem chocolope freebies on the way

Thanks for the breeder tips... going with proven sources makes a big difference too.

what do you think of the sugar black rose?
It has been a really nice surprise - I'm only doing 1 right now, and it was a freebie, but it took off super fast after 12/12, packed on loads of bud mass (still is), smells glorious - really intense tropical fruit, and a sort of skunky background too. Loads of crystally trichs. Really can't complain. Only thing is I don't know how stable it is because I've only done the one, but other reports suggest it's a pretty good bet. I am well chuffed.

Oh yeah, almost forgot - I haven't smoked it yet either, but if looks are anything to go on, I'm sorted.
