from what ive been learning, is it okay to say that when buying seeds, the plants typically produce half male half female? does buying feminized seeds rule that out, making the plants all female? and would it be safer to buy 10 feminized seeds, even tho theyre twice as much, as opposed to 20 for same price and losing half..? correct me if im wrong on any of this please

Fem seed will all be female but you run a higher risk of some hermaphroditing on you. so i would go with the 20 regular and sex em.

It doesn't matter whether there are any males in the room for a plant to hermaphrodite. Since feminised seeds come from hermaphrodite it is obvious to say that the seed will carry the hermaphrodite gene.
If the conditions, light leaks etc become a problem this gene can become exposed therefore creating a hermaphrodite plant.

would i be able to tell if theyre herm soon into flowering? and if i grow herms next to females can this cause them to pollenate too?

i have grown fem seeds 4 times, and every time, 1 or 2 plants have gone hermie, and sent all the others, hermie too.
just get reg seeds.
half male and half female.
as aposed to fem seeds
some female and some hermie, that are hard to tell.
go with reg, get a female, and take clones.
easy.

Exactly, its not worth taking the chance imo. One can sneak up on ya open a bannana when your not lookin and then its to late your whole crop will be seeded, and the seeds those produce are worthless cause they have an even more chance of creating hermies........fuck fem seeds they're a scam.

but can the seeds from the herms be used in the next grow? or are they practically worthless? it seems if you were producing some herms each time then you will have seeds ready for the next grow....

some ppl have different experienes with feminzed seeds, some have a 99% success rate, some have a 0% success rate,,,its best to get regular seeds, but if you only have space to grow 2-3 plants then its a tough one.

Fem seeds come from a hermaphrodite so the hermie gene is allready present, if they hermie again the hermie gene would be stronger in the next batch of seeds and they will be more likely to hermie.....and so on

hermie for first time growers are a no no. id say.
stick with the reg.
if plants are hermie from seed, they are hard to see ,if they are or not.
and if they are hermie.
half the seeds wont be female, just all 100% hermie.
