Female Seeds C99 and Bubblegummer

Hi everybody!

This thread is for tips from my experiences with Female Seed Company C99 and Bubblegummer.

Bubblegummer is supposedly from the genetics of the original bubble gum that originated in Indiana.

C99 is supposedly created from Brothers Grimm genetics. It is a cross of Pineapple and Grapefruit strains.

C99 is Sativa.. It gets tall and has very narrow leaves. It will fill a space fast. It stretches and branches out during flowering especially during the first 3 weeks of flower. Make sure to keep your lights close. C99 really benefits from supports.. It has thin branches.. Supercropping and crimping are very beneficial. I LST and ended up cutting about 1/3 of the branches off because the plant really branched out during veg and then kept branching out at nearly every node... This would be a great outdoor plant I think. The smell isn't very overpowering but it is very fruity. I would probably get stake and tie this plant. I ended up topping in 2nd week of flowering to even the canopy and it seems to have been a good choice. This isn't an easy plant to grow due to the stretching and branching. It is difficulty to manage the canopy. If you enjoy the challenges of a 100% sativa strain.

The potential for this strain would be in small containers maybe 1/4 gallon containers with 3 foot stakes ziptied to the container. Start 12/12 from rooted clone. Clone should be 8" to 12" and should finish about 3' tall

Bubblegummer is an indica hybrid strain. Not much if any sidebranching... might only branch from the trunk. The phenotype I had did well with 3 week veg and LST. Did not need any supports for this strain. No topping either.. Besides LST I just supercropped limbs in the direction i needed them to go and then crimped the rest of the branches up until 2nd week of flower. There is very little stretching with this plant during flowering.. Maybe 3-4 inches or 10-15% height growth into flower. Has a fairly strong and very pleasant smell to it. I will give the smoke report when they are ready to smoke. Appears to be pretty heavy yielding plant with dense buds. Very good choice for the indoor garden.

This strain works well with LST, Crimp, Supercropping.. I imagine topping and mainlining would work well too.

The potential for this strain was great with 3 gallon containers, LST, Supercropping, Crimping. 3 week veg. minimum of 100 watts of HID per plant. 3 of these under a 400w would be good. Bigger container for a bigger plant... if you go bigger you might consider a ScroG... maybe 5 or 10 gallon scrog would be good too.

Bubblegummer was quicker to flower than C99. Bubblegummer is a denser plant overall. C99 is wider and taller and branches out more than Bubblegummer.

C99 If you flower pre sexed rooted cuts instead of ceeds its much easier and faster.
Does grow faster in flower

I dont think C99 is 100% sativa. It looks like a hybrid to me and the shorter flowering time suggest it has at least some indica in it though I agree with the other descriptions.

I was not impressed by my Female Ceeds C99. I will give it another chance, but I have many other strains that presently put it to shame.

Beastgrow ain't lyin..C99 stretches like a muther...I had mine just inches under POINT BLANK 600W and it still stretched and stretched and stretched........ IMO Suppercropping is a must (or some other height mitigating strategy), I only suppercropped one plant and wish I had did them all (or scrogged them) ....

Yield? I killed one girl with a bad airstone and got only 2 zips off the other two (mostly because of the insane stretch and my poor handling of it) I had a RCDWC ... not sure about the nutes as I didn't bump nutes above 1600, so there's that (GH, Lucas + Cal-mag).... smell wasn't shit...it was there, but one could almost use it AS a air freshener...its smells great!!! I had visitors and the smell was kinda everywhere but nobody associated it as weed per se...

The smoke was nice, not super strong but definitely would get you nice and high, trippy really...the shit smells fantastic in a jar.... I've ordered more C99 beans, recommend!!!!

I've run both and they were both decent, not spectacular but good.

The c99 is my favorite tasting strain, smells and tastes great...little lacking in potency though. Neither strain made the cut w/ my patients and they're both gone from the garden now

I was underwhelmed with C99 as well. Maybe it was because I was expecting so much from all the hype but it was average at best. The smell is nice but faint and the high was also nice but nothing memorable.

Its an easy plant to grow and finishes quicker than most although IME, not in 50 days. More like 60.

However, it is a nice change from the diesel dominated stuff that is all I see nowadays.

You all don't have the right C99 then, sounds like a lot of breeders have screwed up the original.

There are only 2 sources I would even consider using, both of which are out of stock on every site on the planet.

Do you have links to either of your sources for C99?

Frost Bros at cannazon, Dizz will eventually get some more up. He separated the pineapple and grapefruit phenos though and they will be f5 this next round. Worked from original stock they are potent and stable.

Maybe or maybe not, last I heard he was switching gears towards doing legal grows as opposed to breeding.

Hope I'm wrong though, cuz' I love his sativa.:bigjoint:

can sometimes find C99 regs on sb. I got mine their years ago and I was lucky enough to have some older Spice bros ceeds

Im guessing most of the moaners are female ceeds???
Fem seeds will ofcourse loss vigor as they go on in generations

Mine were female seed co. They showed all traits associated with the strain just weaker I suppose. I would like to try others but not really into sending cash overseas for the bay/boo.

I wouldn't call it moaning either. Just my opinion on the strain from a particular company.

I dont know how FMS makes fem seeds but I assume they self an F1. The resulting F2's would just have more variability.

What do you mean by "vigor" and how do they lose it?

wow, I'm not questioning the assorted smoke reports (as its all subjective of course) but average? ..... either the smokers that say that have had some pretty weak C99 strains (possibly) or have smoked a lot better stuff than me (probably) .... I personally would rate the potency about 7.5-8 outta 10 ... or maybe I just like a sativa-ish high
