Danielsgrb- Thanks for the info! RiddleMe advised me NOT to cut the leaves back (when we thought she was a girl) and so I left her alone. However, once she turned hermi, I figured instead of giving her a funeral, I would mess with it, just as a learning experiment. Cutting off some of the leaves has made it a lot easier for me to see/handle removing any pods. Hell, if I even get an 1/8 off this plant I would be happy, seriously! That would last me a month...I know...u are probably laughing at how long it takes me to go through an 1/8 when some of you guys can go through that in a few days...
LMAO

I nearly sprayed coffee this morning when I saw that. Yea, an eighth would last me 1 maybe 2 days.

Experiments are always good. Everyone needs to learn what works for them. There are some different ways to be sure, just remember there are usually cheaper ways to do all this. A lot of nutrients are a scam. I hope you get your 1/8th or more.:-P

thank you. well hopefully you will have a little something to ease the pain when its your turn...
God I hope so! Oh well right now I am having some issues with my babies. BSG 4/5/6/7 have some lower leaves which are yellowing. I'm confused...maybe I gave these (4) nutes too early or let them dry out too much. Who the heck knows. I need to take some pics and/or possibly start a new thread.

Hermi is getting sticky buds. I am searching he/she daily to see if any seed pods emerge and end up getting sticky fingers. It has been in flower (12/12) for 3 weeks now. It looks ok so far...fingers crossed!

well if all else fails take lots of pics. so much easier that trying to explain it.. damn yellow leaves i think just about every problem can cause yellow leaves. I have been flowering now for about a week and a half and its really getting exciting. i am just dreading what other problems might arise... not sure how much more stress i can take much less my girls...

I'll post pics of the Loner Hermie tomorrow and her progress so far. In 3 more days he/she will be 4 weeks into flower. Things are getting sticky now, so I have been now using tweezers to root around to see if any seeds/male flowers are trying to show. Nothing found that looks like them. It is like they stopped forming. Weird. There are ball-like thingys that look like preflowers, but they have hairs coming out? So, not sure if they are male parts or not. I can tell you, they are darker green and covered in crystals and not smooth like the male balls I have removed. Hmmmm...I'll get some pics up and maybe you boys can give me some ideas. Scary to think that my 7 in veg from the bagseed might all be hermies too...:-( There may be a mass murder in a few weeks when it is time to switch them to 12/12....booooohooooo. Please God, I don't want to commit murder!!!:wall:

Here is some info on Hermie's from a Guru. This was on light leaks causing it, but still relevant.:leaf:
let me decide it for you man, not trying to be a smart ass about it either...

look out your window at night. is it pitch black? no.
lets pretend you can blame the fact its not pitch black on artificial light pollution (streetlamps, etc etc)
so lets head out into the wilderness... far far into the wilderness. is it pitch black at night? no.
lets head south to some of the tropical latitudes... you'll find that the closer you get to the equator, the brighter the night sky gets. this is really noticeable at sea. not like you'd be growing on a ship, but just for examples sake. you will find that in most of cannabis' natural habitat, the starlight combined with the moonlight is bright enough to read by.
hmmmmmm..... makes you wonder why you don't have hermies in nature occurring on a more regular basis, doesn't it....

hermies caused by light leaks is kind of a myth. but it does happen.
let me explain a little further... bear with me on my layman's terms as well, its just easier for me to explain things in laymans terms to avoid confusion or misinterpretation.
if your growing indoors, its not natural. the normal limiting factors that are present in nature are simply not there in your indoor op. weaker plants that would normally die off in the wild thrive, because you do your best to provide the perfect environment. more often than not, the 'perfect environment' is too much for the plants, its not natural. there's no times of drought or shitty light or extreme temp swings to harden them up. you could compare it to raising a retarded pig and a normal pig, side by side in a closet. both will thrive, because you provide everything for them. however in the wild, its obvious the retarded pig wouldn't make it very far at all... for various reasons.
what this means, is that your prize plant that looks so nice and smells so nice might have the weakest genetics in your entire crop... but you would never know, until something affects your 'perfect environment'... like a light leak... then, and only then, do the weaker genetics become apparent.

its not rocket science folks... its jr high level botany.
I think you got a retarded pig.:-P Just makes sense when he explains it.

Commiting murder isn't so bad. I did it this past weekend. I put his ass in the cold garage for the night, and the next day I chopped him down to the soil! It kind of felt good. In the right situation I "love" male balls, but not next to my female MJ plants. I'm not into pollinating and all of the seed and strain business, not yet.:leaf::leaf::finger:

Retarded pig??? PC = Politically Correct, things other than people can be called "retarded" just not people, IMO.

Toquer- As promised, here are some pics of how things are progressing at 3 wks 5 days:

Here is a close up pic of the flowers:

This is how it looks from the inside/outside:

Here are some pics of BSG#1-7 still in veg. The (3) in 2 gal pots are at 5 wks. The (4) that are in the peat pots are at 4 wks.
BSG#1-7on030311.JPG

Here is BSG#4 You can see it has a few of the lower leaves yellowing.
BSG#4on030311.JPG

There also was some drooping of all of the ones still in peat pots. What does everyone think? They are not close enough to the lights in comparison to those in 2 gallon pots...is that it? Hmmmm...

If it was my grow I would water the ones in the peat pots good, then up-can them. They have to be root bound or at least close enough for an up-canning. Just make sure you tear the peat above the soil so it doesn't wick moisture away. I usually tear it off fully when I use them, but they can be buried. Just my first observation.

I pinched off about 90% of the balls a week ago...then saw a few more I had missed over the next few days. Haven't seen any for the last 4 days. Been keeping an eye out daily for any more, if they decide to hang out LOL.

Thanks Daniels. Yeah I am planning to up-can them today actually. Would you remove the yellow leaves? What's your take on that? Nutes too early?
