I had a plant produce the typical balls so I removed it from the rest of the plants, but because I like the general growth habit I continued to grow it elsewhere to produce pollen for a little breeding attempt. It now has many balls, none open yet, but at the growing tip a the top of the plant it appears to be producing female flowers.
I always thought hermies had female flowers first and then produced male flowers later. Has anyone seen a plant produce male flowers first, followed by female flowers? Is this common and my lack of experience is showing?
