feeding when running Blumats?

I've got the maxi Blumat carrots running on 6 pots. Things look good. Except I'm afraid to add any nutes to the system for fear of plugging it up with sediment/calcification. If I add nutes to a hand watering system won't I be having issues with over watering?

They save time for sure.

In theory the blumats will stop dripping if you hand water and start back up once it dries up some. I did a run using GH 3part at 700ppm through blumats into coco, every once in a while I would have to tug on the drip line to get it flowing again, but it was pretty good all in all.

I;ve just been looking at these. I have a 4x4x7 tent and am hand watering 6 plants in 3 gallon pots of coco. They look interesting. Guessing they're similar to autopots? The only thing stopping me getting one of these sytem is that it seems you can't use organic nutes... At least you can't in autopots...

You can run nutrients if you add some drip clean to your rez. I currently have a 2 outdoor girls running on blumats with veg+bloom and drip clean. Things are rolling on pretty smoothly so far. All I do is change my bucket when its low and do foliars.
You can also just hand water nutrients and run fresh water in your res, they blumats will shut off automatically when they sense the extra water.
Someday I will get off my ass and do my whole garden in blumats.

Most users running nutes do the dual approach of the simple and relatively cheap addition of Drip Clean, and usually a inline filter/strainer of some kind. Also most typically try to drain the feed lines routinely.

I'm actually going to install the carrots in my pots and plug in the pump system tomorrow. It's all plumbed I'm just waiting for a day off to spend a few hours hand-watering and tending to the initial setup.

What should the ppms relatively be when using blumats? Should they be a lot lower since there is not run off? I have a system but concerned about setting it up and having salt accumulation. I have water with with lower ppm solutions before with no run off and still had salt build up in the medium.
