Feeding and PPM Question/method of managing.

I have 3 plants. 1 female 2 unknown and they are in the second week of flowering. They are growing in a dwc with netpots, hydroton, and rockwool. CFL lighting (my one female is about 3ft. Its taller than the other two plants). I used a different nute brand during veg and switched over to FF trio beginning of the 12/12 cycle.

So I have a question about feeding in DWC. I am using FF trio for my DWC grow and the plants looked like they were nute burned after I followed FF suggested serving size for the first week of flower. Now I have the res filled with 6 gal of water and 25% of the serving so 4.5 tsp of Big Bloom-.5 tsp of Grow big-1 tsp of Tiger bloom.

My question is if they were nute burned or over-fertilized how long does it usually take for them to start eating again? My ppm after feeding the 25% serving was a 340 at a .5 conversion factor and my tap water has a ppm of 140. So I have noticed in the last few days that the ppm is rising (now at a 420) but the PH has been a stable 5.8-6.0. So it seems as if water is evaporating or they are drinking water and not eating any food. My temps are 77 f for the room and the res is 68-73 f sometimes cooler.

The growth seems to have slowed but the newest growth seems healthy. The fan leaves immediately below the new growth have brown tips/saw blade edges. Some of the tips have curled upward while others downward and a few others are twisted as well as curled.

Here are some pics: THE YELLOW IS FROM THE CFLS if i turned them off it was way to dark to see.

I need ideas or solutions. I don't want them to die. I have been trying to see what I am doing wrong but idk. I am willing to read so if you know where I should look please point me the right direction.

your ppms are low so i dont think it's nutrient burn....its takes 3 to 6 days for them to snap back into shape after making changes to the grow.
looks to me like you need to feed it some CAL MAG. i would use the CAL MAG as a foliar application that way you can see results within a day or so. just make sure the lights are off when using any foliar application. also is your tap water filtered? usually tap water has a lot of chlorine and this can kill a big percentage of the nutes your adding. hope this helps ;)

More pics:

IMG_0544.jpg IMG_0545.jpg IMG_0546.jpg IMG_0547.jpg IMG_0548.jpg

So more info:
FF Big Bloom NPK is .01-.3-.7
FF Grow Big NPK is 3-2-6
FF Tiger Bloom NPK is 2-8-4

FF suggests 3 tsp/gal big bloom, 1 grow big tsp/gal, and 1 tiger bloom tsp/gal for 12/12 week 5 with a ppm range of 1120-1260. They say feed twice/week. Each serving is about 600ppm. I did that and ended up with what I believe is nute burn but there are clearly some leaves with mg deficiency signs. I ordered botanicare's cal-mg plus and it should be here by next week. Also as I mentioned above, I believe they are in a lockout and are not eating anymore based off the ppm rising and constant ph. So what should I do? I am stuck.

Thanks for your help. The ppms are low now but they were high before as I followed the FF feeding schedule. It was 1000-1200 before the flush and quarter strength dose. No the tap water isn't filter but I allow the water to air out as I change the res every week. There certainly is chlorine in my tap water but I thought it evaporates quickly right? Hoping my cal mag arrives soon.

I am not sure what to do now. I noticed they drank a gallon of water in the last 2 days so I added a little 1.5 tsp of Tiger Bloom, .5 tsp of big bloom, .5 grow big so 1 gal of water then added it to the res. The ppm is 303 now with a ph of 5.6.

OK-- this is almost the same as your other thread on these plants-- so-- same answer...

2 options:
#1- change the rez every week and add new solution and Follow the official feeding chart from Fox Farms
#2- follow a "phasic feeding" schedule by topping-off the water as needed and adding new nutes every week- dump & add new water/nutes ONLY when you transition into 12/12 and 1/2 way thru flower...
FOX FARMS SCHEDULE

Product list:

Grow Big--$16
Tiger Bloom--$16
Big Bloom --$16
Open Seseme--$23
ChaChing--$23
Beastie Bloom --$23
And the Optional : Bush Doctor Sledgehammer--$26

There is a 3-pack available for $65 of Open Sesame, Cha Ching and Beastie Bloom IF you can find it!

The last 4 Products are used in small quantities and only at specific times during the grow -- so if you know someone who wanted to go in on the 3-pack with ya, it would be worth it!

Here's the FoxFarms Feeding Schedule for Soil... Hydro is MUCH more complex, unless you use bubblersthen you can follow a Phasic feeding schedule (At end of weekly schedule!)

FOX FARMS FEEDING SCHEDULES

WEEKLY FEEDING- per Gallon
Sprouting and week 1--BigBloom 2TBS
week 2-- 2tsp Grow Big + 2TBS Big Bloom
Week 3--3tsp Grow Big + 2TBS Big Bloom
Week 4--JUST 3 tspGrow Big + 1/4 tsp Open Sesame
Week 5 same as week 4 unless going 12/12--

Week 5- OR--day 1 of 12/12-- 2 tsp Tiger Bloom +1TBS Big Bloom + 1/2 tsp Open Sesame
Week 6--same as above
Week 7-- 2 Tsp Grow Big + 2 tsp Tiger Bloom +1TBS Big Bloom + 1/4 tsp Beastie Bloom
Week 8-- 2Tsp Grow Big + 2 tsp Tiger Bloom +1TBS Big Bloom + 1/2 tsp Beastie Bloom
Week 9-- 2 tsp Tiger Bloom +1TBS Big Bloom + 1/4 tsp Cha Ching
week 10-- Same as above
Week 11--2 tsp Tiger Bloom +1TBS Big Bloom + 1/2 tsp Cha Ching

At beginning of week 11--Check Trichomes-- Flush if ready.. otherwise, continue as with week 11 every week until you flush!

Also recomended--but not a nessesity--
Bush Doctor Sledgehammer (prevents lock-out)
use 2 drops per gallon of water between feedings starting in week 4 of 12/12

PHASIC SHEDULE: (per gallon)
(follow this for bubblers, OR you can use these amounts when watering in soilbut is not as good as the weekly schedule for soil!)

New Clones, or when seedlings get 3 sets of leaves- 1tsp Grow Big + 2tsp Big Bloom
Week 3 of veg (unless going 12/12) ADD 1tsp Grow big + 2 tsp Big Bloom
4 Days Before going 12/12- Add ¼ tsp Open Sesame
Day 1 of 12/12 Drain Reservoir & refill. Add 2 tsp Tiger Bloom + 1TBS Big Bloom + ½ tsp Open Sesame
Week 3 of 12/12Add ¼ tsp Beastie Bloom
Week 5 of 12/12Drain and refill reservoir Add 2 tsp Grow Big + 1 tsp Tiger bloom + 1 TBS Big Bloom + ¼ tsp Cha ching
3-5 Days Before harvest-- Drain and refill reservoir add 2 drops Sledgehammer

keep the res filled in between feedings with ph adjusted water--

The reasonFox Farms doesn't list nutes for weeks 2 & 4 is that it ASSUMES your res won't go down, so you won't NEED any additional nutes (if your res stays full- great!)..
but if the plants are pretty big, or the room is warm/dry-- they can need refilling up to 3-4x a week!!! The chart doesn't take that into account--
Remember-- feed AT MOST 1x each week-- only water in-between!
Use additional nutes from week one at 1/2 rate until in flower (between recomended feeds) then in flower-- for additional feeds, use the nutes from the 1st week of flower at 1/2 rate in between...again--NEVER feed more than 1x a week!

Bubblers MAY use the weekly Schedules-- BUT ONLY if you use an ec/ppm meter to keep the levels where they should be....
an ec around 1.2-1.5 in veg.. then 1.5 -1.7 in flower unlitt the last 2-3 weeks... then can go as high as 2.0. Watch yor plants! they'll tell you if you are over/under feeding!

I will try the phasic schedule when they began to recover but as of now what should I do? If the new growth looks good should I go ahead and start with 2 tsp Tiger Bloom + 1TBS Big Bloom? I don't have sesame. Would adding more tiger bloom suffice? I am monitoring the ppm. Hopefully they will eat tonight and the ppm will be lower in the morning.
