FeedBack CLF HPS hybrid

hey everyone i was wondering if i could get some feedback from my 100W(actual) CFL and my 70w HPS modifiyed security light

this set up is for the veg state only.

i am currently growing:
1 sour desil
3 collumbian gold
3 indica dominent

i am using promix grow media
GH flora nova (7-4-10) (4-10-7)

i am really looking for feed back on the light system. as you can see i have the CFL's very close to the plant while keeping the HPS far back.

if you have a questions i would be more then happy to answer them!

The HPS shouldn't be that far back and the cfl's shouldn't block the HPS light from the plants. I haven't used a 70, but I'm sure you could get it within 4" of the plants if you have a fan blowing on it which you should. I run a 250 within 4" is why I say I'm sure you can get that closer.

Right now, you are just wasting the electricity of the HPS with it that far away.

the hps is far because it gets hot. and its not like its that far only about 10 inches i know the picture may make it look far. i have the cfl's on a 45 degree angle so they can get closer and so that the hps is still effective. IE why i hvae the plants only in the center.

10" is too far. No it's not really effective at that range you're getting some usable light but maybe 20% or less.

You have to get it closer and put a fan on it to control the heat.

do the CFLs look close enough?

I can't tell. They should be within about 2" of the seedlings to start. When they are established plants and you have a good fan on them you can cut that to 1" from the leaves and have the cfl's on the sides and the HPS on the tops. You should really have them all seperately moveable, not mounted to a fixed fixture like what you have. Or at least break them up into three fixtures where the hps hangs on it's own and is adjustable and the cfl's are in two strips you can move. What you have is ok for now if you drop the hps and lower the lights, but soon after they start growing you'll need to change it.
