I can't believe they're surprised there is an increase in use...10 x more than the year before....didn't they predict that there would be a steady increase over the next few years until we hit the magic 450k patients? I swear the right hand doesn't know what the left brain is doing at HC...up to10g/ day...that could get pricey for VA....

Not to take anything away from the vets, I'm from a military family, but how can a government offer a tax payer funded benefit to a specific group while denying another with equally debilitating illness that is less financially able to pay. I'm pretty sure there are not many vets living on less than $800/mo. I think I'll write my MP via the newspaper and ask why my quality of life is less important than any other Canadian...I'd really like to hear that answer.

Ya take PTSD as an example, say a victim of crime ended
Up with a serious case of PTSD : not covered
Veteran with PTSD: covered WTF?

I just feel real sorry for those vets stuck with tilray bacterial laden floor sweeping, poor guys and gals
Free but not consumable

After giving this some thought, I think that's a great idea...I think I'll ask Ryan what he thinks about all of this!

for the votes of the veterans and their families, I would say they are in larger numbers than mj patients, not slamming the patients. but why does he cut all the vets stuff over the yrs, then bring it back during voting time in huge numbers? mj patients are pissed at him and suing hc so why would he help you out? it is the way mentally retarded people think like harper. booze is ok for minors in his house but god says mj is the devils drug. I hope his whole family dies

How's this?

Mr. Duncan;

I am writing to express my support of providing our injured Vets with any medication they need, including marijuana. My concern is over the cost to the taxpayer and the fact that this same access is not guaranteed for all Canadians. I'm also curious to know if MP's are also entitled to free marijuana. As someone who uses marijuana to treat chronic pain and depression and who lives on less than $800 /mo in disability, I would argue I am less able to pay than any veteran, yet that same taxpayer funded benefit is not available to me. While the obvious solution would be to allow those who need this medicine to grow their own, the Harper government is currently also trying to take that right away from me.

My questions for you, Mr. Duncan, is why your government thinks my quality of life is so much less important than any other Canadian? Why is your government determined to force me to suffer and die in pain, rather than allow me to grow a plant? As the Federal election approaches, myself and thousands more in my situation, would like an answer to those questions. Canadians expect their elected government to act with fairness and compassion for all citizens and to not directly attempt to harm them, but the Harper government seems determined to do just that. I would like you to explain to voters why a government who displays such a lack of empathy or compassion for sick Canadians deserves our support.

please send that!
we should use that as a template & flood our MP's offices. i might do that. i have to do some adjusting but if we all wrote a similar letter, we might get a positive reply...but it is the Harper Gov't. they've ignored us so far....

Thats more money then HC subsidised for all of PPS shipments over the 13years. I could be wrong, heared this in the Allard trial. Governments own alot of hydro companies and interests, collect your money that way.

Im glad that they are finally helping the vets and im confused how this in it self isnt a human rights issue?
We are all canadians and should be all treated as equals. If one person has their meds covered shouldnt everyone?
Doesnt the fact that these vets have theres paid for set a dangerous precident?

Why would the vets be ordering from tilray or tweed why not go straight to the top of the line and start billing canadians for the $30 a gram prices at the hypocrisy or whatever its called.
