I've listened to Hendrix Band of Gypsies years ago on microdot and the notes Jimi played tasted like oranges. I remember trying to explain to someone why the notes tasted orange as though it would be obvious to anybody and being looked at like I was crazy, which I was, sorta, blazing on Lucy. The effect lasted until the next day and I've never experienced it since.

edit

I know that wasn't really the question. But there's more..

Same day I heard Allman Brothers Ramblin' Man and the notes Dickey Betts played on the Les Paul sounded like cherries. And I heard some Jazz organ and the sound of the Hammond Organ through the Leslie speaker sounded like a chocolate milkshake.

I think a person will like any music while tripping that they like not tripping maybe just more so if they are having a good experience. How LSD can effect that is by stripping away your jadedness, meaning your loss of enjoyment and appreciation of something because you've heard it many times before. It can put you back to when you were a child hearing something for the first time.

when i said "best" i meant in the most subjective way possible, so you answered it. its all about what it meant for you in the moment it played

In my experience it's whatever I'm listening to at the time. I love how Nichols describes it by saying it's like turning your brains novelty filter off. Everything becomes a new experience and you see things in wildly new ways.

I love listening to the Allman Brothers, Neil Young, Pink Floyd, and The Vines. Sometimes I go with trance or dubstep but not too often. I usually stick with clamer music for some reason, it just flows better with me somehow.
