Fastest way to Determine Sex

I read that putting your clones in 10 hours of light and 14 hours, you clone will show sex much faster than 12/12 lighting cycle.

Can I try this right after I cut the clones? Or do I have to wait and put the clones in veg. state and let the roots grow out first?

If you cloned your plants why would you wonder about what sex they are? ...

I was considering doing the same thing.. He cloned them so he doesnt have to flower the main plant.. Just the clone to get the sex, so you can veg the main plant longer so there is less stress

im not sure what some of you dont understand about taking a clone from plants that you have grown from seed, and then sexing the clone to determine the sex of the seed you planted.. come on.

as far as sexing goes.. i like to root my clones with 20-4 light schedule. if i want to quickly determine the sex of the clone, i will take my light schedule down by one hour a day, untill i reach 12-12. once i reach 12-12 my plants show sex in 3-6 days depending on the strain. i have tried going from my regular veg cycle to a week of 8-16 and then back up to 12-12 because i was told that it would make my flowers show earlier. doing it that way always took the 10-14 days that a normal switch to 12-12 would have given me.

Uhhhhm.....?

Do you guys have any clue about what you're talking about? Just because he takes a clone doesn't mean its a female, thats why hes doing it, so he doesn't have to flower his mother.

ummm and it gets annoying when everyone points out the same thing...

Ummm.....it also gets annoying when someone speaks on something they knew nothing about. For example

Sniper19- "yea shouldnt you know the sex of the plant already since you cloned it.....???"

ive never been in a rush to find out the sex so ive had no need to do this...
a rush? no rush. just time saved! ya know, this will save you much time because if it turns out to be a male you will know much much sooner! why take care of your plant for those weeks longer only to find out it is a male??

Reason for cloning a plant early to sex it rather than just flowering it. Here let me spell it out for the new guys. You buys some seeds somewhere, grow a bunch of plants, want a nice mother or even just want to flower them all. So you take clones from each and put them in 12/12 so see what sex they are without flowering the main plants and having to take them out of veg early. Then when some clones pop up male you trash the male plants and you've either got less plants to put under your lights that are all guaranteed to be female (hence no males wasting your light), or you have some nice mother plants to clone from that have never ever flowered meaning that every clone you take will have the will to produce that any seed would have.
