Fans for venting?

Aye guys, What would be the best size fan to ventilate a 4x4 grow tent?
For my 4x4 tent - I use a 6inch exhaust fan about 440cfm (currently running at 70% more or less) and also a 4inch intake a about 200cfm (100%) - you can use passive intake and should work well too

i also have 3x6inch clip fan(in corners of the tent) for airflow over the canopy and I have a 10 inch fan under the canopy. I also use 2 clip fan to cool down my LED heatsink..

Sometime I think its a bit too much.. but.. good air flow is key to avoid many problem in your tent.. you can look at my grow journal for pictures..

Finally I know its a little off topic but just something to consider for your build.. with my 4x4 and negative air pressure in the tent, the walls were really pushing too much on the inside making me loose a lot of grow space - I was loosing about 6inches on each side so I built up a cage so now I can benefit from all my space- the pipes did provide me with something to add my scrogging net and attach anything else if I needed. i used white pvc pipe.

thanks for the info man. I was thinking 6 inch just to be safe too. Hoping it not too loud at night. :bigjoint:

I have my setup in a room in the basement and I cant hear anything. If noise is a bigger concern put your exhaust fan inside the tent (mine is outside because stealth is not an issue) and some model are noisier than other.. overall its not too bad if youre not too picky.. keep in mind a 6 inch exhaust fan still blow a lot of air lol so it has to create some sound if not from the machine itself just for the amount of air that goes through.. if you needstealth or quieter for night time you could plan your light on/off schedule with what fits best for you and possibly lowering your fan speed at night (light off) as they dont need as much airflow (assuming your rh% is not through the roof)

A silencer and a proper fan controller. My veriac has really helped with the volume but I think i will get a silencer too. If i run my fan full blast it sounds like a plane taking off in the closet :D

stealth is not the issue it's my wife and kids trying to sleep.lol I bet 6 inch fan would only need to be on medium speed. shouldn't be too bad. Thanks again for the info
