Yea you can... BUT DON'T! Why would you do that... Those leaves are absorbing the light that makes your plant bud... cutting these off can signicantly stunt growth, try LST or simply tucking them back...

Agreed, but if you really want info on the subject, you're gonna have to learn to use a search, and read the countless threads posted on this very site. People are likely very tired of debating a question that has been covered so many times. :-)

Hi everybody this is my first post, my question is can I cut my fan leafs when I'm 4weeks into flowering. I'm using a drip system and the reason for the cut is to get more light in the middle and lower part of the plant. Thanks for you help.

Try to bend them or contort them so lower bud sites get light. If you can move your lights around every couple days. I only cut or trim if I can't get it outta the way myself. Any Hydro/home improvement carries these wires and padded wires for bending and helping LST plants.

So.. you can but you're plant will feel it in some way.

I leave fan leaves because in flower you deprive the plant of nitrogen and the plant will suck it out of the lower leaves, but if a fan leaf is blocking a bud site then you can cut it off.

I agree with tucking and pulling and whatnot but during veg is when I do all of my manipulation. Once my plants start budding I wont cut, bend, or tie down hardly anything. The first 2 weeks of the flower cycle is where adjustments to you LST should be made in my opinion and then leave em alone from there.

this question gets asked so often i agree with mike you should use search to find the many threads on this subject

personally i do remove leaves, branches and any growth i consider not to be optimum
there really is no right or wrong answer here, its more of a growers preference

folk that do not like picking leaves are keen to show/quote you extracts from grow manuals that declare this is a bad practice

folk that are not afraid to remove growth for canopy management continue to post pictures of their healthy plants
so it's really upto you .. do what you feel/think is best .. and hopefully learn from your success/mistakes :)
