So I've decided to give growing a shot. I currently don't have an income and am only using things from around the house, I have tons of Fluorescent fixtures for T8 and T12 tubes and plenty of CFL bulbs. I'm going to be growing in my closet its about 4'x2'x8'. It is by no means ideal and theres still some books i need to move out of there but so far so good. I've had a Tahoe OG clone I got from a club in Berkeley, CA under 24 hr lighting 4 F40T12 ecolux daylight tubes and 3 15 watt cfl bulbs (soon to be increased to 3 23 watt cfl bulbs. I also have a fan to help control temperature, so far the last 3 days have gone great, here are some pics from today. I definitely plan on doing a SCROG with this plant, anybody have tips as to when i should start this?11512.jpg115122.jpg115123.jpg

Bullwinkle: please keep us posted on your progress. You're swimming against the contemporary current but it can be done. I used day light 4' T-8's in a shop light fixture for years without even changing the tube's light frequency for flowering, just the hours on down to 12 and it worked fine. You've got a good size growing space to work with.

I never used extra CFL's as the T-8's seemed to be enough but the CFL's consumption of electricity cost is minimal

I don't know about 24 on over your clones though. I light mine for 16 hours and give them 8 hours of rest.

Growing on a a budget more meager than mine, and I'm sure I'm going to catch a lot of flak for this, can be tough though. I used Miracle grow granulated general plant food years ago, mixed it with our crappy tap water, and I never had a problem. That was probably just dumb luck on my part though. Growing on a tight budget is a bitch but it can be done. If you can afford it, look into Technsflora's, "Recipe for Success." You can use it from the seed to the harvest and you can get a complete sample starter kit for about $30.

You might also want to read, "MARIJUANA BUDS FOR LESS- GROW 8 oz. OF BUD FOR LESS THAN $100," by SeeMoreBud. He did what you want to do. No need to reinvent the wheel. I hope this helps. HSA

Here she is this morning. Its been about 40 hours since i transplanted the rockwool cube into the soil. Im not sure what the soil is, I used some from a bag of potting compost my friends mom has, she used it to grow some great stuff this season though, ill find out and post it. Since I just transplanted it to soil shouldn't the soil have nutrients it will feed off of/ I've been doing a lot of reading and i was figuring i would only have to feed her once or twice during flowering. Im unsure if i will use the nutes I have here or my friends mom's nutes, she has the expensive ones with names liked Bud Candy and all that. If i use mine I will use 16-16-16 during vegetative and flowering i have a 12-55-6 Green Light Super Bloom I'm thinking about using. I also read on posts that the 12-55-6 works great as a general tonic for your plants

Just checked out this post about going 12-12 from seed. https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/416589-12-12-seed-thread-6.html If i were to go 12-12 in the next 3-4 days how much bigger should i expect her to get. Reason Im thinking this now is because when I get my tax returns in the next 8-10 weeks I'm gonna go all in and buy a HID setup so i could get some good results. These lights will not be able to support a good sized Tahoe OG so i figure if I did flower early i might be able to expect denser buds although a smaller amount compared to letting her veg for 3-4 weeks which was my original plan. feedback?

Woke up this morning and the plant is starting to yellow a little bit on some leaves. I just transplanted into soil about 2.5 days ago i'm kinda nervous to start adding nutes so soon. I will add pictures in a little bit. I have it in somewhere close to a 3 gallon pot of soil. I've read a lot of different things about watering so i have a question on it. When I water a plant that has a growing medium of soil, how much water should i give it at a time, i've read on here some people water their plants about 400 ml every couple days however im betting this is for a hydroponic system. I have a solution of 16-16-16 nutes mixed with a half gallon of water at about 1/4 strength (technically 1/8 strength i guess since its half the amount of water, i added 50% of half of the recommended dosage.) would i really just pour the whole 2 quarts of water & nute solution? for a watering?
