ez cloner giving diffrent results in a new location

ok so last year i had a 120 site ez cloner in my apartment i was super relaxed with it just poured some ez cloner solution in and ph'ed it and within 4 full 120 clone runs had 100% success rate in 3-7 days now i dont have the 120 site cloner anymore but i bought a second hand 30 site ez cloner and iv moved 2000ft higher in elevation from were i was before. nights and mornings seem to be colder and i guess humidity must be lower now that im farther away from the ocean. but my results are not what im looking for. im getting roots starts of roots 1 1/2 to 2 weeks and there not growing strong roots its week spindly roots they pop 4-5 roots and focus on those ones unlike before they just kept shooting out new roots from the stem until it had a nice bushy root mass ready to be transplanted. i need to get this figured out because with my perpetual setup these small roots are going to make a difference in my final yields because i can only veg so long.

im going to replace the ez cloner box with a tote very soon because its just coated with salt build up from the previous owner beyond cleaning unless i had a steam cleaner or somthing.

what can cause weak spindly root growth in an ez cloner? iv replaced the water, and solution, ph'd to 5'8, given it a scrub down with soap to get rid of as much salt build up as possible.. i also want to say that the 120 i used last year had quite a bit of build up when i got it too but not as much as this one.

what is one to do? could it be that my other location just had much more optimal cloning conditions or is somthing else wrong ?

heres a picture of the old one and the new one, after further inspection the old one was pretty spotless of salt build up
