I spent most of my "budget" on lights and fans and dehumidifier and more lights and fans, but have been growing stuff like this with $5 nutes. To be fair I bought some organics today and soon as I figure out the ratio to add to my soil I am going to grow 3 or 4 plants using all organic. But spending lotsa money on nutes aint necessarily gonna get ya more bud.
Great grow! It looks like you are killing it and about to harvest soon. Your budget is about to increase and lights and fans are already bought. Reinvest into nutrients and you will not be sorry. I amend around ten different organics from the down to earth line at a ratio of about 1 TBLS per gallon of soil. I also feed my plants right away and every 4 days until week 5 where they begin eating every two days.

This thread wasn't about hey everything is a rip off go buy raw materials it's better! It was about if you wanted to do it the choice was there and a lot of people just don't know.

It is a learning curve like he said. If you want to have fun experiment and challenge yourself then grab some raw material and go at it. If you don't have the time nor the experience or motivation to put that much work into it then spend the loads of extra money on cartoony over marketed nutes.

There are many different choices depending on how much work and money you want to put into the grow that all I am trying to say.

I love science and mixing things and experimenting and if I would have never dug around and found that you could save ass loads of money trying to experiment with raw mats then I would still be dumping ass loads of money into commercialized nutes.

When I want an easy no work grow then Ya I'll buy the Nutes and give the companies their well earned money, but when I want to save some money and have some fun I will go the route that will save me thousands of dollars

Nice link! I personally don't sell Cannabis so cost is very important to me. Making your own personal fertilizer is fun, imo.

I just don't think it is enough to get the cannabis to its true potential. Really you need both.. I Amend my soil and also feed in order to achieve maximum results.. why not?
This is my formula:
Soil- Veg and Bloom respectively:

Plus Nutes from 1st transplant every 4 days- veg and bloom respectively:

Results- took all these pictures right now today. I have different rooms at different stages. Regular results no editing:

In the end, the cost of nutrients becomes irrelevant regardless which source I use, at least when it comes to cost in my experience. The big thing is to find something that works well for you, and hell, maybe even a method that you enjoy more. Life is all about enjoying the experience. My enjoyment in the experience comes from big yields and high quality flowers, and unfortunately my brain goes "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." If something is giving what you believe to be awesome results, keep doing you! EVERYONE has their own opinion, and they all think they are a fucking botanist. Find something that fits the budget - and if it works, it works!

Now, for the REAL info:

Even on a FULL H & G line-up, with their over-priced Amino Treatment - and 10 other bottles of additives I quit using after purchasing - my cost is only $11.36/day for 900 sq/ft of action. That lets me know after time, and systems are refined, the cost will become even less.

Just for reference sake: If you were doing a 10x10 area - the nutrients would only end up costing you $1.26/day (you would still need to buy in bulk or this cost goes up). Ok, so point being, regardless of which nutrients you use - it's all cheap in my opinion. For $1.26 a day you could have these in your arsenal: H & G's FULL line, Superthrive, Bushmaster, Gravity, Cal-Mag, Snow Storm Ultra, Crystal Burst, Azomite, Sea-Crop Trace Minerals, Age Old Organics Kelp/Fish, KelpMan All Purpose, Kelpman Kelp, Oregonism XL, Alaska Humisoil, Aquashield, Raw Molasses, Mexican Bat Guano Powder, Literally 7 different Cloning products (olivias, rootech, greenlight, schultz, dutch master, clonex, power clone). Now granted, remove some of those and your price per day drops. Some these aren't used but still figured into that cost/day.

I couldn't agree more. Why cut corners? I would like to see some pics of your plants if possible, using that line. We use pretty much all the same but exact opposite feed.

Ok dude can you tell me how many different types of nitrogen are in your diet supplement? Or how many and what micro nutes and what kind your plants need? how about the essential nutes that keep your plant fight off pest? We pay for nutes because someone a lot smarter than you are does have this info, The math has already been done, You are misleading people and I am not sure what you are using is safe to be inhaled into someones lungs. Do you exercise the plants on a treadmill? Are the human vitamins you are feeding your plants low calorie? seriously I have seen some of your pictures and you plants are average at best. If you are willing take this test and I will prove your hillbilly theory wrong. Take 2 identical plants and put them in the dirt of your choice. Nute one with your medicine cabinet like you have been and give the other plant straight ass tap water with a touch of coca cola, should read about 1.6, or 160ppm and see what happens. I bet you get the same results. One more thing if your plants are wilting do you give them prozac? Get real dude the only people who are even going to take what you have to say seriously are newbies and you should stop feeding people this line of shit. You are a closet grow cowboy and that is fine but dont mislead these people because you think you figured out how to reinvent the wheel. If you think you are going to call me out I will pose with my plants with todays newspaper in hand. 1 pound per plant yields and colas the size of 2 liter bottles and I didnt even have to go to GNC. Heres the real deal people, growing is expensive and hard work, you have to be able to do a little problem solving, there is no short cut! You must put your time and unfortunately you get out of a plant what you put into it!
