hey everyone,

so i have 2 ak47s in their 7th week of flowering. i went away for the weekend and they wer healthy came back and much of the leaves have turned yellow and some of them even have a red tinge to them. does anyone have any ideas as to what could be happening? im growing in a 2x6 closet with a 400w HPS. soil grow, not using any nutrients right now just RO water.

A Red or a bluish purple tint to the leaves can indicate a boron deficiency & the yellowing leaves late in flower are a lack of nitrogen, both these issues are caused by not feeding the plants, what your experiencing right now is one of the reasons i gave up flushing, its hard on the plants & forces the plants to eat them selves alive.

The yellowing of the leaves is a somewhat normal occurance durring late flowering, this yellowing & redding of the leaves cant be corrected without fertilizing or foliar feeding & should not be worried about if your planning on flushing the plants.

Are your trichomes showing the color you want or are you going by calender days ? day count is meaningless, you want to judge harvest by the color of the trichomes as well as the color of the pistils on the buds, chopping by calender days is rarely the proper time to harvest.

If you want healthy plants that continue to grow larger buds then feeding is whats needed, but if you've read where flushing is a must & its something you have faith in then dont feed them, for me personally until i can see one ounce of real evidence showing flushing makes better tasting weed then im going after all out production.

People read about flushing then repeat as fact, the fact is that its unproven & not a fact, most info i can find on the subject traces back to hydroponic nutrient company's who sell flushing solutions, who'da thought
