exsiting set up - need light advice - 250w cfl - 150 watt hps - 400 watt hps

I have been researching bouncing between 2-3 different set ups for a month now, and would to hear hear a few veterans inputs.


Current set up
3x3x7.5 grow tent , with passive bass exhaust
150 watt hps
6" 200cfm can fan with carbon fikter for exhaust
2 additional fans
3- 23 watt cfls for side lighting
Using botanical organics line in peat,perlite, casting mix with a few other trace elements

Growing haze and pinnaple autos in 2-3 gallon smart pots, usually 4-5, starting 1 every 2 weeks for a perpetual effect.

Now I have been running this sett up for 2 years and it just isn't yielding what I'd like, pulling 1/2-3/4 of an o dry per plant.

Now, I want to step up and start pushing a little more bud out because my yields are not keeping up with my usage needs.


Unfortunately, cash is tight. ,and I don't want to spend more than 100$ on upgrades so looking to get some advice on what would be my greatest returns. I plan on using more space and doing 9-10 plants at a time (starting 2 every 2weeks instead of 1) which will require me to up my lighting.


Options I have within my budget

-250 watt 2100k cfl to add to my 150w hps, they would start under the cfl (left side of the tent) and move to the hps as it progresses throughout flowering.

-add an additional 150watt hps light giving me more coverage

- or selling my 150, and getting a 400 with cool tube, my only fear is heat, now I would use my can fan to exhaust, but it would also eliminate my only exhaust fan so may still drive up the temps. I can't afford additional exhaust at this time,



Any input on what way I should go would he great! Been wracking my brain over this for weeks!

Don't grow autos would be my suggestion. You will never get the yeild you want compared to a photo period. Scrog the plants and you will come out with 3+ ounces easy per plant

you could yield more obviously if u werent growing autos and grew your plants longer yes. But to continue with what you are doing and to upgrade my suggestion would be the 400watt cooltube. I flowered in a 3x3 tent with one before.. I didnt have a cool tube or any ventilation system setup in it, not even intake or just oscilating airflow.. i felt bad for them but it still got the job done, no heat issues so i wouldnt worry about that especially having a cooltube. I came across your thread because i will be using a 400watt cooltube in a 3'x2'x5' tent haha.. im still not so worried but i figured i should look up some examples anyhow. Either that or ya just grab another 150watt HPS. You will notice a huge difference in yield if u get the 400watt tho
