I'm looking for the RIGHT answers here. so if your not sure or haven't had similar (personal) experience with this please STOP here!

I was thinking...... about sand and how some people swear by it when it comes to creating a barrier for soil dwelling critters and their offspring. on the other hand.... a lot of peeps say its bad bc it impacts the soil and creates an even worst environment for the girls. so I was thinking.. what about using the sand with an air pot? would this eliminate the impaction? or would the sand still cause a pocket of water to pool under the top layer of sand/soil mix? (what I've heard from other growers).

Also, this is my soil mix that I will be using on my next run.
-1/5 Perlite
-1/5 Vermiculite
-2/5 Jiffy SS Mix
1/5 MG potting mix (moisture control)

1. what do you think about using the air pot with the sand?
2. what do you think about my soil mix?

There’s no issue I’ve ever had with sand. I don’t use it anymore as I don’t get bugs ( just lucky I guess) but I keep everything super clean. As for the mix moisture control miracle grow isn’t the best option at all. Are you able to procure better soil?

I like the idea of using the Jiffy as the main component bc I like being able to water and feed according to what she needs vs having to wait until dry or overwater her. Since it dries pretty fast. as for the soil. I can replace that with a better soil just not sure which is best. If your asking if can "bake" my own.. no. I need to buy a bag of whatever I'm going to use. (if that's what you meant)!

I also just put air filters and bug netting over the air vents in the tent and hoping that helps to. I almost feel like they came in the soil last run. bc i keep everything really clean. I bleach the walls and floors and the entire tent between grows. And I've sealed up windows with no see um netting.. Ive done a lot to prevent these little arses! I hate bugs!
