exhaust question...

Okay, so when you have a room with air cooled lights/reflectors, one would usually use 3 fans :

1 for cooling the lights.
1 for pushing fresh air into the room ...
and 1 for pulling air out of the room.

My question is why cant you just use 1 big fan to pull the air through your lights and out of the room?
In other words, the ducting would only be hooked up to 1 side of the reflector and run out of the room into a carbon filter and the open end of the reflector would be pulling air from the grow room and through the light/s and out of the room.

this way you only need 2 fans... 1 pushing air in and 1 pulling air from the room, through the lights, and out of the room.

so what r your thoughts on why people dont use this method? or do they?

you need an intake for co2, and if you're just trying to suck air out of a room that SHOULD be sealed, you can see for yourself with your hand by the exhaust fan that not uch is coming out. easy fix-just a hole or some shit into your room, exhaust is sucking, and will get the air from the place with least resistance, and will easily suck in air, and NEEDED co2 into your room

yea i think pulling fresh air in is pretty mandatory if you want half decent results.
my room is sealed extremely tight.

Plenty of people exhaust through their light, it's just less effective at cooling the light than if it has it's own cool air intake. If you have no problems with high temps then you may as well.
Last winter I was exhausting out via my cooltube, then gave it's own intake when spring started turning into summer. I'll probably switch back in a couple of months when it won't take so much cooling.

yea i also have it set up the way you have it (i have the fan and ducting mounted and ready if i needed it... i just have it unhooked right now)
i guess i just wanted to confirm that the exhausting through the lights method didnt have some downfall that i wasnt thinking of before i set up another room this way.

I have a mine with the 6" carbon filter connected to a duct to one end of my air cooled hood and on the other end another duct to my inline fan pulling air out of the room. I'm basically pulling air through the carbon filter then through the hood and out the tent. I also have central air in my house. I have no temp issues. Just a little intake fan blowin in. This is in a 4.5x4.5x7 tent.
